Works well
This is my first time using an elk call. I have always wanted to elk hunt and so I have begun preparations. I bought this and a primos. This one is easier to use but once I could do it on this one, I was able to work the primos as well. I think it sounds good but I have never called elk... Yet.

Works great! Would definitely recommend!
Practice with this call daily for about 3 months and it still is holding up. A little higher pitch than the raging bull diaphram but still makes a nice elk bugle!

Nice all around sound. Can bugle plus cow and calf sounds, pretty versatile reed.

would be good for a beginner
would be good for a beginner. Easier to hit the lower notes for sure. It's mighty quiet and the tone isn't much to right home about. My triple reed sounds way better and is way louder but harder to get a good transition to the low notes. This is my first single reed and I'm sure they are all similar, very easy to use but not much volume. All in all it will work just fine with a tube

My husband bought this and practices with it all the time. It must be good otherwise ge’d Be complaining about it or lost it by now. Had it a month or two.
