Good product just ordered for fun sake but it brought good color and taste to laal maans prepared at home .

There a lot of chillis in India which are common and popular. However, the knowledge of this chilli has stayed contained within the Marwar people. According to a report by Central Arid Zone research Institute, Mathania chilli is on the verge of extinction. Now, with Shirsh Masala the beauty of this chilli can be shared across the country, so it can be used and kept alive for the future generations.In terms of the quality of this chilli, there are three points to highlight: color, aroma and flavour.Like a beautiful bouquet of roses, the bright and deep red captivates the senses. The aroma tantalizes and tickles your nose from the moment you open the package. What a gorgeous smell! Finally, the taste. It mild, but deep and distinctive. It leaves a flavour that will dance on your tongue in a very special way.Overall, I would highly recommend as it really adds a unique experience to any recipe, especially if you are using it for Rajasthani preparations. The authentic Laal Maas cannot be complete without using this product.

Had ordered it in Sep 2020 for famous "laal maans" recipe. I was doubtful on using that much amount of red chilli (because of the past experiences in other brands which ruined my dish & mood). Smell was mostly like the usual red chillies BUT it was actually good. Got the nice reddish color in the meat plus a different flavour. Little costly but overall worked as expected and hence found it genuine.Edit: I used it twice later with same amount of meat & mirch and same recipe. It came out much spicier than first time. Seems there's mix of regular spice as well (I have my doubts). Reduced 2 stars. Color wise it's coming good but taste wise apart from first time, it was too spicy.Second Edit: This is "VERY IMPORTANT". Kindly use the chillies after removing the seed and thereafter use them with the mentioned quantity. Seems seeds are adding the additional flavour. Colorwise it's still good and authentic. Have used them twice without seeds and it worked as expected.

This is not mathania chillies and are mixed with normal chillies. However quality is good.

Mathania dried red 🌶 sold by Shrish Masala is the main ingredient when you make Laal Maas a famous Rajasthani Mutton Dish. The Chilly is grown in a small village in Rajasthan Mathania and that is how the Chilly got its name. It is rich in aroma and flavour and most importantly the colour it adds to the food. For the past 5-6 years, I have been purchasing this product from AMAZON and I must say that it is one of the best Mathania chillies I have ever tasted-full of authentic flavor and perfectly balanced heat! The packaging is a plus too: the bag is thick and sturdy, ensuring fresh chillies.

I don’t think the entire package has 5% of mathania chilli and the rest of normal red chilli. I prepared Laal MaaS with 1kg of goat. As per the quantity I should have soaked 20 Chili’s but I chose to soak 12 Chili’s even that made it super hot. Pls stop robbing customers and misleading them. This is the last time I will buy anything from this seller. Others pls beware. Buy at your own risk.
