THESE ARE SMALL
For those of you who don't bother to read the size of these oil lamps.. THEY ARE TEA LIGHT SIZE. For me they were just what I was looking for. I have a lot of candle cups that have become a real pain when I have to clean up the wax. Now I can just safely let them burn out (about 4 hours) and then refill them when I am ready to have the soft glow of real fire light. I totally recommend the smokeless lamp oil. These are well-made little lamps. Easy to refill with the included funnel... My only disappointment is that you no longer get 6 in a package but only get 5.

Great votives. Gives off lots of light.
Love this product. I looked closely at the reviews and decided to give this a try despite some reservations about the wick and filling it up. So glad I did. This is a great product! Many reviewers talked about having some issues, here are my experiences. (Using 4 inch glass votive holders.) Filling: I used the recommended pure smokeless, odorless oil, and used the included funnel. I had zero issue filling them, and had no issues with over-spill. I recommend poking a hole in the protective tin on the fuel container (don’t pull it off completely,) and sticking the entire funnel top inside the glass, but holding it at a slight angle to allow the fuel to flow correctly. I filled all of mine up several times with this method & had 100% success. Wick: I took the advice of one reviewer (or several,) to use tweezers to hold the end of the wick while pulling it shorter. I held on tight and allowed the tiniest amount of wick to be captured by the tweezers and pulled until the tweezers stopped at the metal clasp. These lamps provide terrific light, bright flame, and they fit inside this 4inch votive nicely. (Also on Amazon :) I filled mine up halfway and it lasted for a few hours.

reach out because they are very happy to help you
These are very cute and well made. The customer service is also TOP NOTCH. So, if you have issue with any Firefly products, reach out because they are very happy to help you. These are NOT suited for outdoor use. We intended to use them on our picnic table as we eat outside daily in warm months. HOwever, they will blow out almost instantly, even with the ready source of fuel. You can have a steady burn by using a longer wick, but that will eat the fuel within an hour. Also, the design could be better. If you lose the wick INTO the holder, the ridge around it will prevent ease of retrieving it. I had to empty it of fuel, then rig a paperclip situation and spend 5 minutes trying to fish it out because it gets caught under that ridge. Customer service has been super helpful, but I don't anticipate these will meet our intended use. Which is no fault of the product, really. It doesn't say it's intended for outdoors. We can't use oil burning candles indoors because we have birds, but I will pass them on to someone who will love them. I would purchase from them again with better choice of the right product for my needs.

Beautiful, expensive, sensitive little lights.
These work much better with the new collars. The old collars caused some wicking/leaking, enough to pool under the light. The collars are the small metal piece that hold the wick in the neck of the glass tea light. I am using them as actual tea lights to keep tea warm. They go into a Japanese cast iron warmer to keep a cast iron tea pot warm. Because of this they will occasionally smolder when the flame is are near the top of the tea warmer. What I like: They are much warmer than wax tea candles, even at a comparable or even smaller flame size They last longer as well They are really really pretty just sitting out! They are almost the exact same diameter as regular wax tea lights, just about twice as tall because of the collar. The customer service of this company is fantastic! What I don't like: New collars installed and wicking is eliminated! (The tops just sit in the collar which leads to wicking even when you fill below the recommended 3/4 mark. The wicking happens around the outside edge of the metal wick holder.) The wick is ridiculously sensitive. At 1/16" it burns out all the time and at 1/8" you practically have a forest fire. So get ready to measure 3/32! Seriously it will take some finagling for you to get it right. Fortunately once it is set not much to mess with. Be patient and try a few different lengths. If you're just burning open air or in a tea light holder it won't be a big deal. But if you are using them as tea warmers you will have to work at it. Finally the cost, the price for these verges on the ridiculous. You can find tea lights at a craft shop for .99 for 100 sometimes you can even find the 1000 pack for 5.99 so you could easily have tea lights for the next three years with the price for these 5 lights. They will by no means look as pretty though, won't be as warm, and won't last as long. I will make it back in the long run say the next five years if I don't break em! But they feel pretty tough so I am not too concerned about that. Tips: Do not use cheap oil in these! It is cheap but it will not work with these small wicks. High quality high purity lamp oil specifically designed for small wicks less than 1/2" wide. I would also say away from the liquid paraffins and never citronella! Be patient with the wick, it will take some work to get right Fill with a squeeze bottle like the lab ones used for precise cleaning and dispensing like the one below: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VG3U230?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00 Again phenomenal customer service that is friendly and willing to look for options rather than just pass the buck. They are also very proactive as you can see from the response to my earlier review. So would I buy them again? Actually yes I would although with five I don't see needing to buy them again.

These are beautiful!
I'm a huge fan of these. I have a pretty extensive crystal votive collection that I light throughout the house (a small portion shown in the attached picture) almost every night along with some cool blue fairy lights to relax to while listening to music (usually classical and usually Debussy or Ravel piano rep). I was looking for clear tealight-sized candles that would allow only the clarity of the crystal to shine through the flame. After first trying clear gel tealight candles (very beautiful but I was going through scads of them quickly) and then moving to disposable oil tealight candles (also beautiful but with a distractingly large metal part to hold the wick in place as well as having to buy them by the boatload). I then bought a set of these (tealight sized). I just love these! They are refillable and made of sturdy borosilicate glass, and the aluminum part that holds the wick in place is very small and discreet and does not detract from the effect I was looking for. Nothing gets in the way of the flame reflecting off high quality crystal -- EXACTLY what I was looking for. Each set comes with a small funnel to make it easier to refill. I bought a gallon of the fuel and find that with a little practice it is very easy to refill them, and believe me, because I light 25 of these puppies at a time on a nightly basis, I need to refill them often. Replacing the wicks is a bit trickier, but once I learned that tweak, that is easy as well. There are a few tricks I've learned along the way as far as the right amount of wick to allow for good flame and little smoke, etc. However, I absolutely love these and have 5 sets now (5 per set), and every single solitary one of them is showcasing a piece of beloved crystal and is lit on a nightly basis. The other larger sizes are also great for pillar candle holders and last a bit longer. (Now if I can just find some version of this in a taper candle to use in my taller crystal candlesticks. (And YES, I do have a fire extinguisher on hand.! ☺) HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend.

Exemplary!! Love these little guys.
I was excited when I saw these little glass tea lights on Amazon and thought it was a great idea because unlike the traditional tealight, these little babies will never burn out as long as you have the fuel and the wick. (I also purchased Firefly's 5ft of the tealight wick as a backup.) These are going to be great in the winter, as they seem to throw off a good deal of heat. One great feature of this product is that you can add a few drops of essential oil to the fuel and it seems to produce a light scent. Another plus is that the wicks blow out incredibly easy and you don't have to worry about a puddle of wax flying on to your table if you blow them out too hard. It does take a bit of practice to get the wick height right so you have to be patient in that respect. Having them barely show is ideal for a bright smoke-free flame. So less is more in this case. I found that the easiest way to move the wick is to hold the metal collar with a pair of pliers and either pull down on the bottom of the wick to make it shorter (just don't pull too hard or the wick will come out) or pull lightly from the top with a pair of tweezers to bring the wick up a bit. Over all, I am VERY happy I made the purchase and with a great deal of care, these little guys will last forever. Firefly makes a great product line.

These are stunning!
Great company, great product and great value for the money too! Initially I bought these because I practice meditation nearly every day and was going through a ton of candles each year. Because of that, I was making my own candles so I could reduce my costs. Then, while shopping for supplies, I just happened to run into these and well, I will never go back to candles again as long as this company is around. These fit perfectly in anything that takes a tea light or also fits nice in my votive holders too. I am going to buy a bunch of these and make myself a hanging chandelier for the inside of the house. I love the look of candlelight and am trying to conserve energy. This helps me to do both and they do burn pretty much as long as they said. Changing wick height is easy too and as long as you don’t let the oil burn out, you don’t really have to adjust very often.

Exactly as advertised.
Let's face it, there are only two "review" questions that matter on a product as simple as this: "Do they really work?" and "Are there any problems with them?" The answers are "Yes", and "No", respectively. I expected that there would be SOME issue with these little lamps, but there just weren't. They're exactly as-advertised: An oil-lamp replacement for tea lights. With the wick adjusted to about the same flame height as a wax tea light, they last about 6-7 hours or so of constant burning on one fueling (that is to say, more than twice the duration of a tea light), burn stably, and cause no issues at all. In other words, exactly what I hoped for when I bought them. Are there any downsides at all? Adjusting the wick can be *slightly* fussy. As others have said, you'll want to have the wick just barely protruding from the metal wick-carrier: 1/16" or less. Any higher and the flame gets a bit tall. I found the best way to adjust them (before lighting!) is to have the wick too far out, and very *carefully* pull it down until it's the right height. Going the other way requires tweezers and is more challenging. Filling isn't any problem at all with the little provided funnel, but you need to pay attention to what you're doing - these are small, so it's easy to over-fill them if you don't focus upon what you're doing. Bottom line: I REALLY like these, and I'll be buying another set now that I've experienced them first-hand. I can't think of any better review than that.
