Fix Me Up

This is some of the best music I've ever heard, and the story behind it makes it all the better. I first heard this music when I watched the Disney+ movie, and I fell in love with the music. The fact that a boy my age wrote all of these songs while dying from cancer is so incredibly wonderfully sad. Even more so when you remember his best friend walked through it with him singing alongside him. The songs are beautiful and powerful and are just good songs. You need these songs!

I recently read the biography of Zach Sobiech written by his mom. Excellent. Such a wonderful spirit which comes across in this book and his music. Please read and than donate to the Zach Sobiech osteosarcoma fund/ research . I had this cancer in 1971 when I was 12. I am so lucky to be alive. I am not connected to the university of Minnesota or the family .

The great blues artists of the past were some of the few musicians who could produce honest music. The blues are all about staring dispair in the face with a grin of hope in the corner of your mouth. That is essentially Sammy and Zach's music. They aren't trying to please some pop audience. This music comes from deep within their souls (if you know their story). Only real life could produce such music. Beware, if you listen to this music your soul will be exposed. This album is a piece of art. It transcends "music." When was the last time your heard some sing from deep within the pit of anguish, "I would like to know myself before I die"? That's the kind of journey you'll take on this masterpiece. My suggestion. Buy the album. Plug in your headphones and let Sammy and Zach take you from your own pit to the Clouds.

I have love, LOVE, LOVED Zach Sobiech for several years, since I first followed his story (and first recording "Clouds") on YouTube. When this recording of songs that I have enjoyed on YouTube came out as a compilation at such a reasonable cost, I just HAD to get it. I love some songs better than others, of course, but do you know what? My 4 year old granddaughter knows the words to ALL the songs!! Even with all the children's music CDs in the car, THIS is her preferred one to listen to!!! (I take requests and she always says she wants the 'Clouds' and 'Fix Me Up' CD)

I love how Jason Mraz spoke of Zach Sobiech in the video documentary of "Clouds" when he said he didn't do it because Zach was dying, he was doing because of the way he lived. His music speaks so very loud to me and I love Sammy's voice, as well! I can only imagine how proud Zach would be if you were to go on to become a professional singer, Sammy. When I am feeling sorry for myself, I play this music and it reminds me that, if Zach could live, really live, despite his terminal cancer, I can and should too. What an amazing young man! His family, Amy, Sammy, and all of the people close to Zach have touched my heart in so many ways! Thank you for this gift!

This young man was put on this earth to create beautiful music, so that we all will not fear what is to come to each and every one of us...death. His uplifting songs tells a beautiful story. How proud we should all be of him and his courage. I do not know Zach at all, but through his music I was able to catch a piece of his heart and soul. He has an amazing talent in songwriting and singing. I just so happen to be scanning the web when I came across his story, and from the first moment I heard his music to his story, he touched me. I would recommend you take a few minutes to watch his amazing story and listen to a couple of angels singing on this album. It will touch deep down into your soul.

For all of you out there that are not aware of the back story to this album let me give you a short synopsis. The gentleman that you see on the cover is Zach Sobiech. Zach passed earlier this year due to his ongoing battle with cancer. He has left the world with this inspirational, beautiful, and powerful music album. The song "Clouds" has been internationally renowned, and had an explosive outpouring of empathy and comradery. The songs are American Folk in style, and you will find yourself humming them all day long.I believe that proceeds from this album are donated to Children's Cancer Research.Don't give this one a second thought, just buy it!
