Firstly like others have said, the extra flies were unnecessary but shows the company cares and wants the best for their customers. I was honestly expecting low grade flies, but from what I can tell (New fly fisher here) they are all excellent. I haven't had a single one come apart, and have caught tons of fish with them. I'm grateful for the quality, and will definitely be purchasing more. Another thing- when I originally submerged the case on accident, I automatically assumed the flies would all be wet. To my great surprise, they were totally dry, and the case was waterproof for at least 20 minutes (the time I had submerged them.

Best- the flies look like they are tied properly. I don’t see loose ends and the material isn’t sloughing off. Included two gift flies which look like they’re ready to catch fish! Hooks arrive sharp. I’ll update when the runoff is down. Truth is I’m excited to use these. Heck, even the fly box is well made!

Bought this item just for the case as I needed a little pocket size fly box for those quick trips to the creek. Box is great and exactly what I needed. Will fit in any of my jean pockets. I haven't used any of the flies that came in it but most of them seem cheaply made and I can twist the materials around the shank when pulling them out of the box. I am sure the fish won't mind but I wouldn't expect them to last long. The price was cheap enough that I consider them free with the box so I don't feel so bad about it. The box is small so be aware that you're not going to be able to fit a clouser on a size 4 hook but any bugger I have on a size 8 or less fits fine. It will fit any/all midge and nymph flies I have.

Bought as a gift for a first-time fly-fisher. The gasket makes for a tight seal & there seems to be a good variety of flies, which from what I read is important because the fish are biting whatever is available in the current season/area. There is even a bonus fly on the backside! The box is smaller than I thought, pocket-size but that'll probably make it easier to take along. The recipient is very pleased.

Nice starter set of flies in a handy container. Purchased as a gift along with Fly Fishing for Dummies book and small pocket guide to be opened along with a certificate for an into fly fishing class. Classes can be found eaaily online - be sure to pick one with at least 2-3 hours of time in the water!

did not see the dimensions anywhere (they hide in the questions) but counted the spots and sections. Transitioning from Idaho trout flies to Florida 'what ever they feed on' ;-) -- will be a moment but I am moving the IDs nymphs to the little box (this one) and keep running big ones for big flies. Nice model! I have two of twice the size already.... This one will be Idaho/Oregon trout nymphs only

Great looking flys and a great price for the quantity. I don't yet know how they'll hold up, but they look promising. The dry box is nice and comparable to a more expensive one that I bought years ago.

I ordered the "12 must have flies" option mainly to for the fly box hoping to get a few decent flies as a bonus. When ordering I assumed that the flies would be mostly low quality but hoped some would be OK enough to use. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the flies were of moderately high quality and very usable. Highly recommended for the price!

The case is very small and compact but holds a lot of flies.Fits in your average denim pants back pocket or front pouch of hip waders.I would definitely recommend this product

Case is really nice, like another review said it's almost perfect size to fit in your jeans pocket, although it would be little thick. Flies were ok, some looks useful, others not so much. But I bought the item for the case not the flies, they were just a bonus.
