Warriors: Battles of the Clans (Warriors Field Guide)

A Rather Interesting Guide
Before I begin, I want to start out by saying that at first glance, this seems to be another great guide for the series. I just wanted to revise it because I feel there’s room for elaboration and criticism. That said, I found the text boxes for the battle techniques interesting. I’m also glad that SkyClan was developed a little more because it would be years before they got more time in the spotlight. Bonus points for the short stories albeit the last one isn’t the most exciting. For the record, I like the numerous stories. They give multiple characters their own chance to shine. They also explain why a fight happened. However, there are a few worrisome instances. The first was when Hailstar decided that he deserved his Clanmates’ respect when he knew the attack would be unpopular. Yeah, those aren’t the words of a good leader; those are the words of a dictator. The second was when Petalfall criticized Cloudstorm for his beliefs. From the way she talked down to him, you’d think StarClan did more than give prophecies and omens. In fact, you’d think they would leap down from the sky and hand delivered prey to them! The third was during the brief tour of ShadowClan with Tawnypelt. It was then the fight over the abandoned Greenleaf Twoleg place is mentioned. Firestar’s battle declaration should’ve struck her as odd. From the moment he joined ThunderClan, Firestar has always strived for peace and did his best to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. With that being said, why would he have just changed his mind? (Yes, I’m aware Ivypaw told him giving up land was going to lead to dead cats.) The bigger issue, however, is her criticizing Lionblaze for breaking the code. Did she (and some of the fans) forget that Russetfur was killing Firestar? What was he supposed to do; just sit there? In addition, in Cats of the Clans (I believe), it’s mentioned that the first fallen cat shouldn’t have been involved due to her age.On a similar note, there's something I had to take back. My first reaction was to wonder how did one of them could forget that Antpelt was a WindClan cat not ShadowClan. That's because Onestar was the start (in the main series at least) of breaking the nomenclature by mixing together unfitting prefixes and suffixes. However, I took a brief trip to the wiki, and was reminded that he was pretty aggressive. It should also be noted that it was claimed that he had an apprentice in the same story. Even though it wasn’t major, it wouldn’t make sense considering he wasn’t a Warrior for long. All that said, the guide does offer info on techniques and insights on both well-known and lesser-known battles. However, this also raises several worrisome incidents that convinces me the vast majority of these characters are indoctrinated. That’s why I would you urge to read up on this book before deciding if it’s right for them.

Beautiful Companion to the Novels - Buy the Hardcover
This is a beautifully made companion piece to the novels. The pictures are gorgeous, and the book itself is well made. I'm not going to spoil the stories, but there are battles that someone who has read all the books will remember and battles from long ago in the Clans' histories. All of the vignettes make the most of what works best in the Warriors books: the action sequences. The fights are well-written and exciting, and I was amazed at how quickly I cared about the characters who were new to me. The book is light on the relational and serial drama aspects of the books, although I am pretty sure it drops some hints about both the Omen of the Stars series and the upcoming Sky Clan's Destiny super edition. It made my son, who is nine and the big warriors fan in the family, want to go back and re-read Bluestar's Prophecy, which makes me happy. If he's loving the books, I'm loving the authors. Kudos to te Erin Hunter team on this one.

Amazing Book!
I'm a huge Warriors fan, so this was the ideal book for me. Also, I've been curious about Tigerstar for a long time, since so little books tell about the evil cat, so I thoroughly enjoyed his tour of the old forest territories. It's very well written. The other cats are very good describing battles and other things, too! Rowanclaw gave the apprentices a very entertaining, as well as educational in Warriors role play training sessions. I know this well, because I like to play Warriors with friends and we hold actual Gatherings, training sessions, hunting and border patrols, etc.Well done, I say, Erin Hunter, on yet another book! You are an inspiration to aspiring writers everywhere.

Ummmmmmmm... nice?
I guess it was ok but kinda confusing at times. I loved how it pointed out a different cats point of view on something and the ones about skyclan. I feel like Erin Hunter should make more books about the history on some of the clans that are not in the books. I give it a four star rating because he didn't continue on some of the cats stories. All in all I think it's a book worth reading.

This is a guide to all the characters I believe..a must have for all warrior fans. When I just gave it to my daughter she's like "where did you get that? YESSSSSSSS! "Never thought so much excitement could come from a book. Shout out to Goodwill in Houston Texas for selling the book for five bucks (which looks brand new). thanks!

Another great release by Erin Hunter
This book clearly recaps almost every famous battle from the entire "Warriors" series. Erin Hunter also did a nice job of mixing it up with a few behind-the-scenes battles that aren't mentioned anywhere else in the "Warriors" series. Thank you, Erin Hunter, for giving me a series to keep on reading! (I mean, seriously, there's a prequel series that's still coming out!) And if you've read all of the "Warriors" books- YES, I'm talking to EVERYONE reading this review- then you should get started on "Seekers" or "Survivors". THANKS! :)

Great History
I have been collecting these books, I am a cat lover and also a writer. This book explains how these different clans of cats set up their battle techniques against each other and other foes. Reading the books doesn't give you the insight into the training that goes with each clan. So this book tells you that. And also the background history of each clan. It is fun to imagine yourself as a cat heading into battle. Thing about it and you'll see.

Great book!!!!!!!!!!!!
This book is an ultimate guide for warriors fans. I loved how it takes you through all of the clans, and it teaches you the techniques. This is a great book that is well-written and thorough. In my opinion, it's worth the money, and Erin Hunter did a great job as usual. I gotta go. FireClan is on our border again. Stupid furballs! -Splashtail

Awesome background information!
Since "Cats of the Clans" slightly disappointed me, I was really glad to see that the "Battles of the Clans" really is a great book with a lot of background information.[Warning: Contains Spoilers for the end of Season 1 and 2 ;)]We are introduced by Onestar, leader of WindClan. We are filthy littly kittypets (nah just kidding ; and we get a whole visiting tour around the lake, where we meet all of the Clans living there. But that is not all. We also visit the old forest from Season 1 and it is Tigerstar who brings us there and tells us all about the fight against BloodClan and his own ambitions. We get charts with tail-signals or special battle techniques. We are also brought to the territory of the fifth Clan, SkyClan.[No more Spoilers :)]Every Clan tells a few stories that not only are about pride and victory, but also about mercy, loss and doubt. My favourite stories are: "A time for mercy", "The Rushpaw Splash" and "A Rogues Story".Every story has at least a small picture at the beginning of the chapter and some have a full-page colored picture, too.So, there is a lot to see and explore in this Field Guide and if you already read the first Season, I can definately recommend it to you! It would be best if you read the second season, too, because this book contains a few spoilers for it...

an awesome book that agitated me a little bit!
I like this book but I don't like that tiger claw was the one to show around the old territories. But I love how they made it so it's like they're talking to us. My favorite part is when tiger heart is teaching the apprentices cause its so funny! I love this book so much.
