Screen 18 Kenya AA Whole Bean Coffee, Single Origin, Med-Dark Roast, 1 Lb

I was very pleased with this coffee. I don't have a regular brand but was given some Kenyan coffee as a gift which was excellent so thought I'd try this one. This coffee has a very smooth, rich flavor and does not give me an acid stomach which has been a problem with other coffees I've tried recently. I've been using about a tablespoon and a half of ground coffee per cup. Since writing this I have tried the Sumatra. I prefer the Sumatra to the Kenya. It has a bit richer flavor while being very smooth. I have an order in now for the Columbian. Oddly, Amazon groups all the reviews for all of the varieties together. So far, having tried two varieties I’m trying a third because the first two were very good, better than anything from the grocery store, and at a very reasonable price. I’m far from a coffee aficionado but I do grind beans and believe this gives me a better cup and feel that all the varieties of this brand that I’ve tried provide me with a better brew than I’ve found elsewhere. I think I’ve tried all the varieties offered by this seller and this is the Columbian is the only one I continue to buy.

Excellent Kenyan coffee. I personally think Kenyan coffee is the best in the world. I usually use dark roast, but the medium roast has a smoother flavor.

The coffee tasted good but the roast did not seem that fresh. I normally expect fresh roasted beans, especially these expensive ones to have more oils but these beans arrived very very dry. The coffee however has a pleasant taste consistant with Kenya AA. I'm pleased with the purchase in general but will probably try some other coffee houses first before coming back to this one because of the dryness of the beans.

I have lived on a coffee farm in Kenya for many years. I know how highland Arabica coffee is cultivated and processed. Very labor intensive. There are two main types of coffee: Araibica and Robusta. Arabica growes best a high altitude. The farm that I was on was 8,000 feet above sea level. Robusta can be growed at low altitudes. Arabica trees are noy tall and require pruning and mulching. Harvest at prime condition by hand. Robusta trees grow tall and not pruned much. Labor requirements are minimal, just pick up the berries. Arabica coffee is mild compared to Robusta which is often used in instant coffee. Coffee originated in Ethiopia and when you go to a rural home in Ethiopia coffee will be roasted, ground, brewed and served to you as you socialize with the family.

A little too shallowly bitter for my taste. I'm more a fan of darker roasts. On the plus side, however, the coffee was definitely fresh.

Excellent Kenyan. This is one of my favorite varieties of beans. When I opened the bag, my first impression was that it was not a dark enough roast. But I was mistaken. The roast was excellent and brought the full flavor of the beans. I was pleased with the product and the price.

This is a very pleasant Kenya AA coffee; I like Kenyan coffee and have tried several. The beans are small and nice and oily, which is for me a sign that the beans are fresh and will have good flavor. I have put this coffee on auto-subscribe for now, and unless I get a disappointing bag in the future, I will continue to drink this brand/variety.

This is a good coffee, but doesn't have as rich of a flavor as a couple other Kenyan brands we've tried.
