A good love story
Novel: Something I Never Told YouAuthor: Shravya BhinderGenre: RomancePublisher: PenguinLanguage: EnglishISBN-10: 0143445901ISBN-13: 978-0143445906Blurb: 4/5The blurb portion of the book is compactly written and highlighting the core substance of the story. After reading only the blurb part of the book, readers can get the idea that it a love story. Here is the blurb of the book: " When in love, you tend to take each other for granted, and sometimes, that can cost you a lifetime of togetherness . . .Ronnie knew that his first crush was way out of his league, and yet he pursued and wooed Adira. Shyly and from a distance in the beginning, and more persuasively later. He couldn't believe it when the beautiful Adira actually began to reciprocate, falling in love with him for his simplicity and honesty.Slowly, as they get close and comfortable with each other, life takes on another hue. From truly magical it becomes routine. There are fights and then making-up sessions-a clash of egos and doubts.Things begin to change for the worst. It is too late.Ronnie and Adira will probably never find their forever after . . .Cover:5/5The front of the book shows blurred picture of a car (photo taken from inside the car) and a human figure covered in blood is shown. The motive of author behind designing this cover in this way can be understood after reading the novel. If I need to justify this according to content, then of course it is appropriately designed. Personally, I like the cover design very much.Title: 4/5After reading the book, I can say that no other title can be more apt for this book.Plot: 5/5The plot of the novel is very beautifully and thoughtfully penned down I must say. This is one hell of an emotional story I read till date, there were multiple instances where my eyes were all wet. The plot showed true emotions of a person towards the love of his life and how it affects the person and people around them when family member doesn’t support love. Besides love life, author also showed the importance of friends and family in one’s life. The pace of the story is perfectly apt (medium paced). From the very beginning till the end the plot has the power to captivate the mind of readers. I would say, it got somewhat boring in the mid, but got interesting once again in the end.Story: 5/5The story of the novel is what I fell in love with. It revolves around the story of Ronnie (the protagonist of the novel) and Adira and the people connected with them, mainly the family members and friends. Through this story, author has tried to convey that all the relation is build on trust, without trust you can’t keep the relationship going, even for a day.Ronnie’s character is shown as a shy one. He was not so famous among girls and this is why he always lacked confidence when he was asked to talk to a girl. When he first saw Adira in his Nani’s home, he build an instant liking for her. But due to lack of courage, he never told her.Menawhile, Adira was facing a lot of difficulties in her life. After 3 years, they got a chance to work together as a team in an MNC. After gaining confidence and inspiration, Ronnie finally decided to propose her.Without revealing too much of the story, I can say that story is capable to make the reader turn the pages of the book and also self-sufficient to boost your confidence if you ever loved someone.Lines from the book that I loved:Well there are endless number of lines as well as poems in this book that I fell in love with, some of them are as below: When in love, you tend to take each other for granted, and sometimes, that can cost you a lifetime of togetherness.. No job is small; no role is insignificant. Every position has its importance in the world. Your post doesn’t define you; you define yourself. My Verdict: 5/5 (Overall)Author Shravya Bhinder has crafted and presented the story in such a manner that will keep the reader at the edge of their seat. It is a comprehensively good work, I must say. Language is quite simple and I found this book error free, a very well edited book. Overall, I liked the plot and the way story and character is presented in the book. I fell in love with the character of Ronnie and Adira. I would like to recommend this book to all the young lovers out there.More about the authorShravya loves to find hidden stories around her and write novels about them. Formerly a corporate employee, she managed to flee the madness after a few years of boredom to become a full-time writer. She is a sucker for romance and strives to pen down exciting stories. When she is not reading and writing, she is out enjoying nature, playing with her dogs or cooking for her family. She lives in Melbourne with her family, in a house with a barren backyard and a lifetime's collection of books.

One time read
This book is yet another love story with the usual struggles. Raunak or Ronnie as he prefers to be called falls in love with Adira. Both are from middle class background. The story goes back and forth between the past and present.Raunak is late for his first day at office and looks to have olst his metro card somewhere in the commotion with the auto wala regarding the fare. On searching around he notices that it is under the dupatta of a beautiful girl who is seated on the staircase talking on her mobile. I know that sounds clichéd. On looking at her he realizes that she is not an unknown face but someone he knows very well. This girl is Adira. Raunka’s maternal grandma has a PG at home, one of whom was Adira. Rauka immediately fell in love, the first day when she came into the place. Raunak hangs out wiith his cousins or more aptly the only friends he has during weekends, who help Granny with managing things for the house. A few formal hellos were the conversation exchanged between Raunak and Adira. Basically he is very shy to express his liking for her. This is evident in few instances where he buys a silver charm bracelet for her birthday and places a note on it without writing his name, consequence of which some random guy unkown to him in the party claims he was the one who presented it.Bamm!! Our hero loses his chance. Yet again when Adira falls sick, he gets medicine and makes someone else hand them over to her and she thinks it was Rohit, Raunak’s cousin who took the pain of getting her medicines. Here we go again. At the same timeline, his cousin Piyush falls in love with Tamannah, Adira’s friend, proposes and they are all set for marriage.Upon the metro train journey Raunak loses track of Adira and ends up late in office; halfway through an important meeting with the clients and his team. But a sign of relief is that through the window he catches a glimpse of Adira is happy that she works for the same company too.Like a God given chance, Raunak and ADira are on the same team who travel to Melbourne for a client project. That is when they start talking casually. Raunak’s lead helps him understand that he is delaying a decision to go up to and confess his love to Adira.Raunak decides and proposes, Adira replies saying she needs time to think but he is definitely more than a friend. IN between we have the usual opposition from Adira’s mom refraining her from any male company, she absconds, they meet again at Piyush’s marriage. What happens to them? Do they reunite is the rest of the story. The story started off in a good pace and somewhere in the middle that seemed lost. It again regained the pace during the climax. Part of the narration seems to be dragged and things are explained way more in details in the middle which kind of is not engaging. The vocabulary was good; the narration is clear. Over all is a one-time read and a usual love story.
