Great Detail But Small pieces!
The media could not be loaded. I watched this T.V. Show in the 1980's! The build brought me back to my childhood! I normally build WWII tanks and planes but when I found this model, I could not resist! Glue is not needed. However, I glued the smaller and fragile areas! I want to make a Diorama with airbrushed "Space" and enemy ships! Maybe for a future review! The Aircraft it comes with is so small but will detail a few. Decals will be applied!

High quality parts.
I've built all sorts of models before over the years. This by far has better quality plastic. From what I can tell, this is more of a snap it type model, don't need glue most of the time. Unfortunately it's written in Japanese (I'm assuming, I don't know the difference in the writing between Japanese and Chinese). Fortunately the diagrams are easy to understand. For us older folks, have tweezers and a magnifying class handy. Your gonna need!I had a lot of un putting together this mode.

Beyond expectations
Not for the faint of heart. Molded in color, yet still requires paint. Tools are necessary, buy the bundle if you’re mostly amateur. Requires a real desire to build this monster. May take me a while. Awesome kit. I honestly didn’t expect the skill level.

Mostly well designed, with just a few gripes.
Looking for a decent-sized model of the Argo (nee Yamato) to build, this is a pretty good choice. With Bandai's nearly exemplary snap-fit construction it MOSTLY works very well. There ARE a few places however where you will find yourself swearing up a blue-streak at how tiny some of the parts are and, if you're like me, a few of those tiny pieces end up on the floor they become a part of the house, never to resurface again. While the carousel set-up for the fighter ships that is designed to insert into the back third of the Argo is a cool concept, it's staggeringly difficult to assemble, and I honestly just gave up and glued the hull shut instead. If I could re-make this one I would, but I would definitely do it better and also be prepared to clean up panel gaps where the carousel insert goes. Also, those incredibly thin fins that protrude from behind the Bridge tower? They don't fit in their holes. I had to Xacto the holes to get them in. And the whole bridge tower assembly sits on a sled that plugs into the top of the ship, but not very well. All told, this would have been much more credible at a lower price point given the issues and the idea that the original version of the same kit was released with lighting, while this one is not.

This model was fun to build
This model is so detailed I am in awe. DON'T DROP A SINGLE PIECE, the anti aircraft guns are the size of a very small insect are so difficult to find unless you are a professional ant seeker (I am not, so it took me a few hours to find the one that dropped. BTW, there are zero extra pieces). Also you should be a professional ant painter if you wish to color any of the 20 or so fighters that come with it. This model was fun to build, and probably the coolest thing a Space Battleship Yamato fan could have. I used an oil paint pen to color the opaque windows and a marker for the transparent ones, for a really nice effect that I recommend. There are some pieces that can be swapped out, so make sure you look at all of them and decide which ones you want to use before gluing them in (example: there are 3 hull pieces that cover the fighter bay; one for a mounted bay, one for the bay displayed outside, and one you can mount an omnidirectional base to. Extra: in the show the wings fold inwards, but on this you choose between two sets of pieces to determine wing position.I recommend getting this to put it in, as I have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C4QUFDE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Amazingly detailed
I bought this for my self but instead my kid took over and build it. Took him a few days as some of the smaller parts (turrets) were a little hard for his age. However, the finished ship looks amazing! You can tell they putted a lot of efforts on getting the details right. Now you might be tempted to use plastic cement on a few places, just need to be very careful. My kid squeezed a little too hard and there is a (what he called) battle damage area under the left anchor...

I would recommend this one since it has all of the options
This basically combines the previous bare bones 1/1000 kit with the interior detail/wings accessory kit, as well as an optional plug for the front wave motion gun as well as waterslide decals. The original release of the kit prior to the cosmo reverse version did not have waterslide decals or the interior bay and I think it also did not have the small 1/1000 Garmilla's ships either. You had to get the Cosmo Navy sets to get the waterslide decals for the original releaseThe instruction sheet is well documented illustration wise and you really don't need to read Japanese to put it together.Due to the snap fit nature, the wings, and interior bay can be removed, or added on after the kit is built so you can switch things up display wise whenever you wantLikewise, the plug cap added to the wave motion gun to represent the state it was in on the trip home from Iscander can be added or removed at will as well.If your on the fence regarding which 1/1000 version to get, I would recommend this one since it has all of the options

Awesome snap together model
This model is extremely detailed and was a lot of fun to put together. Most pieces snap together and hold together very well. However, there are a lot of small detail pieces (such as anchors, anti-aircraft guns) that are really too small to stay attached on their own. I used a small amount of superglue to attach them and that worked perfectly. I used an acrylic paint wash and acrylic paint to add detail work and that also worked very well. A sheet of decals are included. They were very easy to apply despite their relatively small size. I cannot stress enough how much detail this model has. I was very impressed. Although the directions are not in English, the illustrations are easy to follow.

Great Kit
Some of the small parts were pretty fiddly, which is something I was not used to for a Bandai kit, because the scale was so small. But it comes together very well, as any other Bandai product. It was a fun project. I can't wait to tackle the larger 1/500 scale.

Yamato Bausatz super cool
Sehr schöner Bausatz hat viel Spaß gemacht... Anleitung ging gut von der Hand. ;) Habe es mit Revell Farben angemalt. Die Details sind superfein. Ca 35.5 cm lang und 17 cm hoch. Passt gut in eine Vitrine.
