The Brightest Stars And The Brightest Love
Every time I read a book by Anna it’s like willing handing over your heart and know she’s going to crush it but stitch it back together better than before. It’s just the whole “going through” that does the damage.I LOVED this first book in Karina and Kael’s story. There’s a lot of inner dialogue which is standard for an Anna Todd book, but that inner dialogue is what really grips you into the characters. You truly understand how Karina is feeling and how her relationships actually ARE as opposed to an outside view.So you know how love/hate it is between her and her dadOr how much she worries about her twin brother Austin. He’s basically all that matters to her.How hurt she is about her mother and betrayed she feels by not hearing from her.But you also understand how she feels about Kael and there’s a slow burn to the whole duo.Kael is really closed off, suffering from guilt and PTSD he’s going through so much shit and you never really get to crack him open but you see how being with Karina open him up more than he has in a very long time. It’s slow and torture in the best kind of way and then shit explodes like it always does in ever storyline and then BOOM it ends.Sigh. Right when it was getting good.Don’t worry there’s a sequel but that’s not until next year. This book was mainly build up to what’s to come. A lot of the groundwork was laid and the relationships set up and some other factors that you could tell signified something just not what.Don’t expect to get any closure because the cliff hanger is a doozy. If you love a good angsty slow build burn then you’ve gotta grab this one for your rainy night reading, just prepare to have a book hangover like no other.

Anna did it again!
Being a fan of Anna's for a long time now, it's no surprise I highly enjoyed this book. Military novels aren't really my thing, but this one has me wanting more! Karina and Kael are inspiring characters and when I got to the end, I was literally begging for more! After is my favorite series of all time and I found it hard to get into another series for years all because I kept wanting to think of Hardin (aka Harry) as the main character. Right off the bat, The Brightest Stars gave a clear character development and it was easy to picture a solid character with a different description. Anna is such a respectful and creative writer! I cannot wait to read what is to happen next with Karina and Kael. (Also I cannot wait until April 12th!! The After movie will be the death of me!)

Queen Anna
Anna Todd is an instant buy author for me! She got me hooked on After and thats history. There were a few errors in editing in the book, but I loved the story line and the characters! Such likable ones and a great story line at that. And the cliff hanger is KILLING ME!

part 1 of an unfinished series
Anna has been the queen of Wattpad due to her AFTER series. Feels like this was a Wattpad that was published and still not complete.Heads up…..this ends in a cliff hanger that has not been wrapped up. The story is ok, but seems to be lacking A LOT since it starts in the future and there is a BIG hole from where it started to where it abruptly ended saying the next part is climbing in 2019…….it’s 2022 and I can find the rest. Will update my review once I have completed the series.

Subtle, Sexy ... Love this book!
Another great book by my favorite Indie Author! Anna Todd is taking on the world of the military, but this is no Army Wives type of book. It's full of intrigue and mystery. The people are real and raw. Wounded and imperfect. Wow. This is good. Can't wait for Book 2!!!

Amazing Rollercoaster Ride
Anyone who has lived any type of military life will immediately recognize the roller coaster of emotions in this book. Anna has a way of sucking you in and not letting go and pulling out every emotion known to man. Literally cannot wait for book two!

Good story.
Once again, Todd creates characters you have to fall for. I will be eagerly awaiting the next installment. However, the typos scattered throughout the book were distracting.

Heartbreaking, inspiring and captivating military romance - 5 stars
The brightest stars is a heartbreaking, inspiring and captivating romance book. It's a story about finding your place in this world while doing something you love and are proud of. It's about family bonds and how they sometimes can be a blessing and a curse. Especially if you're the glue holding everyone together while trying not to fall apart yourself. The brightest stars shows many aspects of military life. Although people serving their country take great pride in doing so, many choose this occupation in order to avoid poverty. Those people endure and witness horrible things that still haunt them after they leave active duty. And let's not forget that nowadays a part of military staff sadly still faces discrimination due to their sexual orientation and/or skin color.I simply love Anna Todd's writing style and how she plots a story and develops her characters. She always manages to pull me in from page one and make me invested in her books. This one is a beautiful slow burn. Everything else wouldn't have been realistic in this case. I'm asking you to please not compare this story to Anna's famous After series. It's completely different. I'm actually glad that we get something else here which also has the potential to become an epic love story to remember. As of now, this book is part one of a trilogy and I can't wait to see what this talented author has in tow for these intriguing characters. The main protagonists of The brightest stars are Karina Fischer, a 20 year old masseuse, and Kael Martin, a soldier of the same age. Karina grew up as an Army brat and had to move very often due to her father's occupation. Since her mother was unhappy with her marriage and way of life she left them without a backward glance. Karina's only close confidante during that hard time was her younger twin brother Austin. The siblings couldn't be more different from each other. While Karina is the mature and responsible one Austin is the laid back and carefree one. Both have a very difficult and strained relationship with their father. When Karina meets shy and closed off Kael she feels grounded by his still and stable presence. He makes her put her guard down and open up her heart. Since he doesn't share a lot about him Karina is forced to fill in the blanks herself about this mysterious and brooding man.Kael has been on two tours in Afghanistan and is now struggling with the aftermath of them. He is emotionally and physically damaged. His family consists of his mom and younger sister whom he is very proud of. His military buddies respect him and appreciate him for his ability to empathize. While he doesn't speak much he doesn't mind listening to Karina rambling about everything and anything. Kael enjoys her massages that soothe his aching body but he also uses them as a welcome excuse to get to know her and spend some time together. He feels drawn to Karina like a moth to a flame. But Kael is keeping secrets from her that could easily shatter the quickly made illusions. Will they destroy their delicate bond or make it even stronger? Karina will have to find the courage to untangle the truth from the lies and decide what she is going to do about it.I've thoroughly enjoyed the yearning and tender romance between Karina and Kael. I liked their chemistry and the intimacy and trust between them. They found their way to each other slowly progressing from friendship to love. Both are complex and multi-layered characters who are not flawless. But that makes them even more relatable to me and simply perfect for each other. I therefore highly recommend The brightest stars to all die-hard Anna Todd fans as well as lovers of this genre. I'm looking with great expectations towards the next highly anticipated installment.

Great
Ended kind of abruptly, like it wasn’t actually finished. But was a great read regardless. I love the characters and the plot
