KYB SR4030 Strut Plus Complete Corner Unit Assembly

The original struts are too soft. These are just about right, if not perfect. It's been for more than two years since they are installed. They are still holding up well.

Installed this on a 98 Camry LE, plus the SR403029. So far so good; the old mounts were bad and just generally old and worn out. Smoother ride and no more noise over bumps and pot holes. That car still needs an alignment, plus maybe some wheels and tires. But the ride quality is noticeably improved. Will update if there are any issues but I don't expect any. After reading some other reviews, I just re-used the original nuts on the top side.On installation: I took my time and about an hour per side. No issues with the lower bolts/nuts, they came right off with nothing more than a breaker bar (and a slight pre-soak of PB Blaster). Do be careful, though, with the sway bar link connection - there's an Allen insert to prevent the stud from spinning but that steel is soft and easy to round (which I started to do on one side - THAT would have been a pain!). Soak liberally with PB Blaster, tap with a hammer, repeat. Clean the Allen hole out with a pick, use a very well-fitting Allen socket, and clean the stud threads. I used a Dremel with a wire brush.

Simple to install, night and day difference in ride quality between original struts on a 100+K mile '98 Camry and KYB replacements. Not clear if/how Amazon will warranty these, but I purchased through Amazon for less than half of what brick and mortar auto parts stores were charging for these OE spec struts. One note on installation, if you raise your car with a floor jack (as opposed to a lift), you may have trouble disconnecting the sway bar link from the strut as it will be under tension. I clamped the sway bar itself to the lower control arm -not overly tight, but enough to relieve the tension to slide the threaded part of the link from the strut assembly. I also recommend replacing the sway bar links on both sides if you are able to rotate them -should be pretty tight. Great deal, I'll try to remember to follow up with any issues.

2001 Camry LE replacement the ride height in my car is restored, a little squeaky over speed bump but I can live with that
