TURBOFLAMEPhoenix Windproof Jet Flame Lighter

After being plunged into the freezing dark by Storm Arwen knocking off the power, I decided I needed to rebuild my emergency kit. So I invested in some new survival toys, one of which was this new lighter. It has two wee dials/knobs on the bottom, one of which is for filling. I don't know what the other does, because I filled the lighter and fiddled with it for ages, but nothing happened. Eventually I tried turning the filling knob and a huge flame shot out and burned off my eyebrows. Fortunately, being ginger, nobody is going to notice anyway, and I managed to get the flame down to a manageable seven feet. So all is good, and I'm ready for the next storm now.

Bought 3 of these for my Dad now in the last maybe 6 years or so and he's been really pleased with them. Only the recent one i bought via Amazon here but its the same model as before.As an engineer anything in his pocket can take a beating but they seem to keep working. Also on tea breaks when the smokers are outside struggling to light up in the wind, with one of these for my Dad its a breeze !Although he's had 3 of them the previous 2 are still working but just a little temperamental, but considering the price, wear and tear and amount of usage, they have done really well.He's saved a lot of money over the cheap lighters and had a better experience.

"Turboflame" - what a joke. I followed the filling instructions to the letter and the best I could get out of it was a tiny flame that wouldn't stay lit for more than 10 seconds. I bled the tank and refilled again - no joy. I also tried to adjust the flame with the adjuster at the filling valve - again - no joy. What a piece of junk. Amazon require that I rate at least one star to create this review. In reality it is a no star product.I have since purchased a "Wind Proof Collectible Pump Style Jet Butane Lighter" by Sojoy for just £2.39. It is excellent. Just wish I had read the Turboflame reviews here before I purchased.

It's good not as good as they make it to be the metal but in the middle snapped but still working some things if change but overall not too bad

Looks an feels aturdy and it works, just. Special fuel needed but little info on how or where to obtain let alone a name. A puzzle to set up. Not impressed and would not recomend.

Really pleased with the item although like all items of this ilk, it is difficult to re-fill with gas but hey ho, I still like it and more importantly, it works.

Really loved this item, it was a gift and arrived promptly, similar to one purchased some years ago, but this one is really stylish and powerful.

Really expensive for what you pay, including the postage and packaging, my partner bought this without me knowing, if i knew i wouldn't have bought it,
