A cut above your usual paranormal mystery!
I have to admit, when I saw the title and the front cover of this book, I thought I was in for the usual light, frothy, cosy-mystery-meets-witch book. What I actually found was a really well-crafted and well-written story, with good character and plot development, laugh-out-loud moments, and lots and lots of fun!I now regret completely binging on all four of the books so far in this series, and will have a long wait for the next one...

A Cozy Mystery That Had Me Hooked.
I loved this book and couldn't put it down. It's got everything that I look for in a 5star read; great scenes that get the adrenaline pumping, an intelligent mystery or two to get the little grey cells whirling, nail biting tension and well written humour (there may even be a bit of romance on the horizon for our heroine).I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries within the paranormal genre and I'm looking forward to finding out what adventures Amanda gets caught up in next. You can read my full review on my WordPress blog Flora's Musings...

Pretty good
I confess I bought it mainy because the name Amanda Cadabra intrigued me, but it was a good pick, and the story is entertaining enough that I bought the next two books before finishing this one.The weak puns in some of the character names are a bit laboured, and it could have done with better proof-reading before going to print, plus there are a couple of places where the flow of the narrative seems to jump as if a paragraph of explanation has been skipped, but don't let that put you off - the background is intriguing and story on the whole is a good'un.

Enchanting debut from an author to watch out for.
Enchanting, thrilling and a perfect blend of delight and mystery, this is a wonderful first outing for Holly Bell's wonderful character, Amanda Cadabra, and her grumpy familiar, Tempest. Nt just a great story and a delightful read, but also a lovely window into English Village Life!An effortless read and a heap of potential for a future series.More!

Page turner!
This is my favourite type of book: a page turner! I couldn't read it fast enough! Happily I am retired so burning the midnight oil was not a problem! The characters are so well thought out and believable. Even the witches!!Well done Holly! More please soon.

Fun read
Weird names for people obviously twisted from real people but does make for interesting reading.
