If you are installing an electric fence in your back yard to keep your dogs in your own yard, this is the product for you. It is practicably indestructible and the spike is fairly easy to drive into wood fence posts. I had to drill a pilot hole for the nails and use a small sledge hammer.

I highly recommend replacing the nails with screws. I smashed my hand several times trying to hold the nail straight.

Just put these up this weekend. Easy installation. Quality seems to be similar to ones we’ve bought in the past.

Product look good, nice and sturdy. The only problem was my fence post were a little weak & couldn't handle to pounding of 4 1/2" nails ( included in package). So I went to the hardware store to get some screws, they were impossible to find. So I bought the smaller size from a tractor supply by my house & screwed those in. I'm not reducing the stars due to my fence was weak, not there product.

I ran an electric line around a coop and with the 5 inch stand off worked great.

Easy installation and great value for money

I love the fact that these come with the nails to fit and properly attach them. The nails are a somewhat large diameter, so takes some effort (and good aim) to pound into if you aren't a regular handyperson. Good aim because you don't want to hit the plastic by mistake and break it! In the past I have noticed this type of insulator does not work well under strain (i.e. with the wire passing at an angle), as over time the plastic doesn't hold up. But along a straight line section of fence, they work great!
