GallagherSize, No Color G79504 in-Line Strainer

I purchased some thorn less blackberry canes last year and knew that I would have to create trellises for them last fall in preparation for this year. I was unable to tighten the wire enough by myself so went looking on U tube. I watched a video were the grower used these fence strainers on his blackberry trellises. Our farm store only had two in stock but I purchased them anyway to see if this was what I wanted. It took me one installation to figure out how to use them and I was off and running.I needed six more strainers and Amazon had them cheaper than our farm store so ordered them and had them in three days. I have had to ratchet twice this spring and summer as the canes have gotten so heavy but it was quite simple to do. These made a frustrating task very simple for me.

These work great for putting some tension on a corner brace. For years I used solid braces. I no longer have the time nor the patience for that kind of effort. These throw an nice tension on a corner post. You can crank them up plenty tight without causing them to deform or come apart.

it does what it should. just be careful what handle you get to go with it. amazon is matching the wrong one

I was very disappointed when Gallagher stopped re-branding strainrite and started making their own. It would be one thing if they maintained the quality, but these are much much worse. The straps tend to come off the side when you tighten it and they start to rust in a year.

Paid <$5 a piece here and the local TSC has same style for $6.99. I was 2 short and ran to the store. Absolutely zero differences and after 2 months in the field I am happy with the performance of these strainers.

Liked product this better than those from local farm store. Solid unit, quality design, and cranks wires tight!
