Spalding Heavy Duty Basketball Net (Red/White/Blue)

This is the best basketball net we've ever bought for our Rebounder Pool set. We've bought many other and some are really cheap and don't last more than 6 months to a year. This one lasted about 3 years in our hot, humid, FL climate before one string finally broke. The colors do fade after a while, and it gets a little raveled looking (as they all do), but it held up much better than others. It's very flexible and moves easily when the ball goes in. Good quality product. For about $3 a year, it's well worth the cost for all the fun hubby has playing basketball when he's in the pool (which is a lot!).We paid full price for this and will always buy again when needed! I review many of the products we buy online. I only rate items 5 stars if I would pay full price for it. I do give 1 star (since you can't give 0) to items which are so bad that I return for a refund, throw away or wouldn't want even if free. I try to mention all the pros and cons of products, because I check reviews often for the hundreds of items I buy online. This is a high-quality basketball net. It fits as expected and looks like it will last under heavy use. My son plays basketball on an outdoor hoop located on our driveway. I live in Texas where the odd weather can be brutal on anything left outdoors (It could be burning hot in the morning then drop to almost freezing temperature by noon). Most items left outdoors bake under the sun (like windshield wipers). I don't expect this basketball net to last forever, however, it has been doing well for the few months since I bought it. None of the parts have frayed and the color has only slightly faded. I've had several of these before while living in different locations. How long the color lasts will depend on how harsh the weather is in your area (ex. The more rain and scorching heat you get, the quicker it will fade).All in all, this is a good product, the price is right, and I would recommend it to anyone who owns a standard indoor or outdoor basketball hoop.

This pair of heavy duty nets was defiitely built to last. The material is very durable and the nets are thick enough to withold the punishment that good shooters can put it through. Mine have been outdors, exposed to the elements (sun and rain), for over six months and have shown no signs thay are ever going to shread, as reported with the  Spalding 8279S All-Weather Basketball Net (Red/White/Blue) .On the negative side, I'm not sure they properly check the ball after each successful attempt. They do the job, but not as well as I have experienced from other nets. Perhaps this is due to the length, because as other reviewer commented, they are not as long as regulation nets. But for non-regulation/recreational basketball I don't think you can get any better.

This did not last 4 months! It seems to have dry-rotted to brittle nothingness. My kids cannot even reach the net, so they have definitely not been pulling on it. The ball went in, and the net came down with it. It is truly ironic they deliberately put the words "Heavy Duty" in the title.

Good net. Hopefully it thickens as the weather beats on it a little. Doesn't grab ball quite like I want it yet, but it's still new. I use a full size outdoor never-flat ball. Bought it for the color scheme, no better colors in the world. The NBA Patch affixed to the net is annoying, but not enough to clip it off. Judging by the make of this net, the regular net which does not meet 'heavy duty' standard must be REALLY wimpy. I'm glad I got this one.

I wanted a heavy duty basketball net for our outdoor goal. I also wanted one in the patriotic red, white, and blue colors. My daughter (and myself) couldn't be happier with this net. It's regulation size length (some reviewers worry about the length being short), not sure why. I could tell right away it was a better quality net than the original one that came with the basketball goal.If you have an outdoor goal, go with the heavy duty nets. It's well worth an extra dollar or two and I highly recommend this one.One note, it comes with an NBA logo stitched to the front. It doesn't bother me but I have never seen a net with a logo stitched to it. It's located midway in the front.Overall, great buy!

This is the 2nd time I have ordered these nets in the past 2 years. While they look good the stitching is very poor.The nets weren't even used for 2 weeks and the red stitching on one net came loose at the knotted area. It has been very difficult if not impossible to put it back together.The other net came loose at the know in the white stitching area.I would love a refund or another set of nets.

This is a good net. It has withstood the weather well. After nine months, the red coloring on the net is beginning to fade a little, but nothing major. I would buy the same net again.--Update--My net lasted just over 18 months. It would have lasted longer, but my nephews found it fun to hang from the net instead of rebounding the ball. (Thanks, guys....) When I came to order a new net, the heavy duty net was out of stock on Amazon. Instead I got the cheaper, "All Weather" basketball net. The lighter weight net is okay, but I wish I had waited for the "Heavy Duty" version to be restocked. This version is a much better net.

The product could do with the stitched spalding badge removed. Or at least reposition it in line with a loop do it can be attached with the badge front facing.

Good heavy duty nets. We use them on a remote fly-in fishing trip to hold a large ( 15 pound ) rock for a boat anchor. They stood up for an entire week of bouncing off the bottom of the lake and river.
