Worth 10 stars
After faffing about all afternoon with a crumbling plastic nut, I'd give this 10 stars if I could. Quality.

Waste nut
Much better than the plastic version

Did the job
Ideal replacement for a split, plastic washer. Only gripe was that it wasn't hexagonal, it was actually octagonal, so box spanner wouldn't fit. But managed to fit anyway.

Good Product
My only comment is that you should always buy a replacement seal/washer in addition to the flanged nut.I used this to replace a broken plastic flanged nut and used existing seal. Even on replacing the old seal it still weaped a little and I had to use sealer as you can only tighten up so far or risk breaking the sink. Also note that if the O.D. of the drain pipe measures 1.5 inches then you need to subtract 0.25 inch and order a 1.25 inch BSP fitting. I add this as I spent more time trying to figure out the size to order than to fit it on the sink. Don't take my word, Google it for confirmation. Subtracting 0.25 inch seems a standard practice for BSP fittings for pipes. I am electrical not a piper so again Goggle it to be sure.

Its a nut
Goes on a thread and tightens up. Not sure what else you want out of your nut.

It's a Basin Waste Nut!
Does exactly as it should. Robust is what is needed for any plumbing stuff to just work... Never use plastic nuts to fix a waste to basin or bath... those plastic things always strip their thread and always leak. BRASS is the answer (but take a lot of care not not to over tighten on the porcelain, huh! There's no 'give' except for the plumbers-mate jointing compound that you've put in there... You did use that stuff didn't you?! Else water leaks will abound a plenty along with cursing!

Useless
Purchased this item to fix a leaking sink. Completely a waste of money. It didn't fit. Took it to my local plumber's merchants who looked at it and couldn't believe how badly it was made. They sold me 1 at a fraction of the cost. Do not buy this product
