Does this work with wireless charging?

Yes for phones. Seems to have trouble with my Gear S3 frontier watch.

How big is the lip in mm?

If I had to hazard a guess ad say 2 mm ish but it's more than enough to stop screen from scratching when face down as for cosmetic doesn't look to bad as the lip is only on top nd bottom.

Should there be 2 layers with this? the instructions indicate that there is a separate tpu layer

My case didn't come with separate tpu layer , I bought that on its own

does heaphones plug in correctly into the 3.5 socket with the case on?

Personally I have had no issues using my headphones with the case on. It does however also depend on the Jack on your headphones, if they have a chunky Jack it may cause issues. The design of the case does give a reasonable amount of clearance around the socket however so most shouldnr have a problem.
