TomTom XL 335SE 4.3-Inch GPS Navigator

Some features are easier than my (5-yr old) Garmin, such as the ability to delete parts of routes I don't like. But storing my current location as a "favorite" has got to be easier and, frankly, the instructions are just not that helpful. They pretty much tell you how to plug it in and give you a couple of tips on what tapping various points on the screen will do. That is annoying enough to normally rate a 2 or 3 star review, but it turns out that being able to delete parts of routes I don't like is an important feature to me, because these things route you through unwelcome places all the time.

You can't but this cheap enough because the service behind the product doesn't exist. Work ok till all of a sudden it couldn't fine many locations. I upgraded on line as they suggest and it went fro bad to worst, not finding locations was bad enough but to have it take to wrong locations is worst as you've now wasted your time. Contacted the company but received no help at all, they were rude. All of these devices can be purchased at the same price so time to move on to another brand. I kept one in each of three cars so they loose out on three sales from being rude.

I previously had a model from circa 2009 that I was happy with, but it stopped charging recently. So I bought this. It is functional but I am not as pleased. The map seems really old; I've already submitted several corrections. It's missing the traffic report. It pronounces "202" as "two west two" for some reason.The worst was when I told it to reroute me to a nearby donut store and it wanted me to take a 2-hour detour. Needless to say I ignored that advice.

Hey it's an old devil but it works and updates fine (Map share) It replaces my Tomtom "One XL", which also worked fine until I deleted all the Maps and system files like a dummy.

The Tom Tom XL 335SE GPS Navigator is everything I wanted in a GPS unit. We are pleased and will use it regularly.

I also purchased the 5" screen version at a retail store, and use it for backup (that's all they had in stock- I needed it quickly); This I purchased via Amazon, and is is the better version, UI and size-wise. I much prefer this 4.3" size.

My Tom tom cannot find its heinie with both hands outside the city limits of a few towns.I recently went to the Grand Lake area of NE OK and it tried to lead me to the S. side of town for a "North" address...It couldn't even see the street north of Grove. I found it anyway. Then on the west side of the lake it tried to take me up a private lane as a "shortcut"...In Scott County, Arkansas, it failed to locate anything but Highway intersections. Never found a single place I was looking for, not 1. I got on my tablet and mifi and picked the address of almost all the places on google earth or MapquestThen ditto for Newton Co. Arkansas. Finally, in Van Buren County, it could not find an address on the north side of town on the main road (Hwy 65) and again tried to take me to the south side of town. I had the address from the assessor's office in all the cases above and tom tom found about 1 in 10 addresses overall. Where did they get their maps? Apple?Never more will I buy a Tom Tom and I've had at least a poor luck with a Garmin in rural areas. After 4 (3 tom tom s and a garmin) you'd think I would brighten up. Never more...I finally decided they are not worth 10¢.

love the tom toms, bought one for myself and two others as gifts. and the comfort store they came from gave me great quick service and even played a major role in solving a problem for a lost by the post office gps. he was very kind and helpful, thanks to him so much.
