280710 HDMI 5 x 1 Digital Selector Switch with IR Remote Control

I bought this because it claims to be 4k compatible and after getting my new 4k display hung I realized that it is limited on ports so I'd need a switch capable of delivering 4k content -- I only have a media center pc now, so 1 port is ok for now, but with next gen consoles around the corner I figured I should future proof. Well this device has a flaw in that department. Ports 1-3 are 1080p only and ports 4-5 work at 4k. I gotta wonder how this is possible -- there is a different chip driving different ports, but alas -- after 1 replacement -- those are the shakes. I did some more searching and found this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0038SQQ0Y/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_img_sol_0The blue jeans cable model is less than half the price and is absolutely identical, down to the first 3 ports being limited. So I have no clue who is Vanco, why their version is worth 72 bucks vs 27 for blue jeans, so if both are sorta working, why pay more for a brand I would never recognize. Hence 1 star, over priced, doesn't work right. Basically re-branded cheapo switcher, if you are ok with the limitation -- buy the cheaper one, pass on this one.
