Too short!
The only thing I dislike is that it isn't long enough. Lovely art, and a good story. I look forward to seeing more of these characters in future comics, novels, or the next Dragon Age game.

Not the Best In The Series - But Plenty of Lore
I have loved the Dragon Age games, every single one, since Origins. And having these graphic novels/comics between releases helps a bit to bridge the gap in time while we wait for DA:4 in 3-4 years time. These graphic novels are light - more about things happening to random people on the side than to any of the main characters. Of course, it would be nice to speculate that these characters might appear in DA4. But for now, another story leading all paths to the likely next location of the game: Tevinter.Story: Olivia Pryde is a con artist - and a very good one. But on an assignment for the Inquisition, she'll meet another young con artist who also has secrets of his own. Together, they will try for a great scam while also seeking to unearth the location of meredith's idol (which began the red lyrium menace when unearthed by Bertram). The choice of illustrators was interesting here - most fans have been clamoring for a harsher, grittier return to the dark storylines of Dragon Age Origins. Yet for this graphic novel, we have a very cartoony and honestly silly style that is not bad - it just doesn't help the story. With this style I'd expact mad cap antics and anthropomorphic animals, not Dragon Age characters. Honestly, it was hard to take them or anyone seriously, which is what I hope to see again from DA as well. The story itself felt overly convoluted (or just over written). It should have been either more fun (to match the art) or more interesting. But these characters, though feeling like they belonged in the Dragon Age world, just didn't click. I didn't want to follow them or their adventures and instead I was looking for the familiar - anything that related directly to the games. It didn't make for a good read. That said, we have some wonderful lore here that is even more intriguing now that the first trailer has come out for DA4. The red idol is featured as a maguffin in this graphic novel's plot and also was the focal point of the trailer. It's led to a lot of speculation, especially since it looked to have been destroyed in DA:2. But this graphic novel is telling us otherwise and I truly hope that we get some of the DA:2 characters (Fenris!) in DA:4. DA:2 felt very 'throwaway' and this novel looks to be telling us that wasn't the case, it was very important for the story. If anything, these graphic novels look to be saying that DA:O was a standalone and the real story started in DA:2.For the lore and intriguing questions raised about the DA franchise, I'd rate it higher. But the meandering story and cartoonish art felt inappropriate and the very last thing that fans have been asking from Bioware. All the same, I will continue to get every single comic/graphic novel as released.

Even for a fan, only ok
This was my least favorite of the Dragon Age graphic stories so far. The characters weren't engaging, and I thought the art had an inconsistent style. The female characters looked very similar, and the male lead, Calix, looked like someone trying very hard NOT to do anime, but not able to get away from the anime eyes (anime is fine, just the two halves of his face were doing different styles). The story was abbreviated and with action and emotion only hinted at, but not actually carried out or felt, as everything was rushed along. The story line was very similar to Knight Errant as well, so it felt kind of like the rejected first draft of that story as well. I'm a huge Dragon Age fan, and appreciated some of the cameos, but this one just fell flat even for me.

Great present for a dragon age fan
Beautiful book, bought for my sisters birthday who's a big dragon age fan. Delivery was up in the air for quite some time but I did get emails in that time which is good. Recieved roughly about a month or so after preorder.
