I wish I could rate this seven stars.
Yesterday I received this microphone from Amazon. I bought it for use on my desktop PC in conjunction with Microsoft Voice Access, a built in voice recognition system in Windows 11. I expected it to work okay, only being $15 and being paired up with free, built in software that I didn't even know existed until about a week ago. My expectations were shattered. This microphone and software are incredible. It picks up my voice while filtering out background noise, and so far has literally been 100% accurate in transcribing what I am saying as well as controlling numerous different aspects of numerous programs on this PC.I remember when, if you wanted this functionality, you had to pay several hundred dollars for Dragon NaturallySpeaking and a microphone, spend hours training it on your voice, and it would still make tons and tons of mistakes. Now, you can use a free built in program, a very inexpensive but surprisingly high quality microphone, not train it on your voice at all in any way, and it makes zero mistakes. Technology is wild.I have spastic hemiplegia. (a condition where one side of the body is having constant spasms and contractures literally all of the time.) This began when I was eight years old, as the result of brain cancer. I am now 43, and there aren't very many thing that I straight up can't do, but the hemiplegia makes almost every single aspect of daily life much more difficult, because my right arm is basically useless. Literally the only thing I can think of that it doesn't interfere with is walking. I have been very heavily into computers since I was about 10 or 11, so the only thing I've ever known has been typing with one hand. I tried Dragon NaturallySpeaking, as mentioned above but it was expensive and it made a ton of errors. So, I said forget it and went back to typing with one hand. Now, a decade later, on a whim, I ordered this microphone for use with my home PC and I am blown away by the quality of this microphone paired with Microsoft Voice Access. I am going to order another one to use with my work PC.

My team said my voice sounds great on this!
My coworkers said my voice sounds great! I WFH full time, I hate wearing headsets so I've been using the speakers and mic on my laptop for calls for 5 years now. The mic stopped working so I ordered this based on the price and all the good reviews. Just called a few coworkers - they said I sound GREAT! Crisp, clear, NOT like I'm in a tin can. They were instantly like "whoa! what a difference!" I also like the physical mute button on it, and the fact that the Teams mute button also mutes it. Haven't been able to test how much background noise it picks up yet but so far I love this thing.

Good but only when speaking closely to the mic
Good if you are speaking close to the mic but sound quality degrades if more than a foot away. My need was for a mic I could place on my desk that would pick up my voice clearly without requiring me to talk closely and directly towards the mic for it to work properly. I will be looking for either a mic like those used for podcasts or one that is omnidirectional typically for conference rooms where voices are picked up at various distances clearly.

Sometimes the little guy wins...
DAMN! What do you WANT for $20?! Not only does it hook up with my new Mac, it even has a mute button on it so I never have to fiddle with the mouse. Checked it with my buddy on Discord (been relying on my laptop mic) and it sounds 100% BETTER according to HIM! 5 stars no prob!

Great microphone, good audio quality
I had purchased a different USB stick looking microphone for my laptop and the sound quality wasn't great. I replaced it with this one. This microphone was easy to set up and use and has nice clean sound quality. I've been using it for voiceovers for screen recorded how to videos and everything comes through nice and clean. The cord is a good length and the audio comes through clear with no background noise issues or weird sounds.

Great sound, light weight, easy connection
I’ve used it for about a week now in both clinic note dictations and using for online meetings. The microphone works great so far. I like it better than having to hold the dragon mic
