It Actually Works - but you must understand what you are buying
My 1/2 acre pond has been perpetually covered in duckweed since we purchased the property. After reading a lot of material, this was the first product I bought to try and clear it up. I applied it in the late spring after the pond was already covered with duckweed by mixing it in a sprayer, and wading out in rubber boots a few feet from the shore. I sprayed just under the surface, trying to walk and cover the largest area I could. After a month, I was preparing to come back here and say the product didn't work at all. The duckweed appeared to change color, but was still present on the water. After a very dry year, we finally got a rainfall and that churn of the water made all the dead duckweed sink, and we had a perfectly clear pond the rest of the year and through the fall and winter! I mention this, because some reviewers seem to think that you can spray this in the water, and all organic material will magically disappear in a week. That's not the case. You need to apply early, or be prepared to wait for results. This year I'm going to apply it earlier in the spring as a preventive measure. Yes, the price is eye-watering, but I've decided if it costs $200 a year to have a clear pond, it's worth it to me.2 YEAR UPDATE: I applied this to an already-clear pond in the spring (late March) and the pond stayed clear the entire season into the winter. The price on this product is gradually increasing each year, so while it is very effective, I'm going to start looking for competitors that use the same active ingredient (Fluridone).

It works! Duckweed is GONE
After years of battling duck weed, it's gone. First photo is at treatment. Second one is two months later. It does take time, but even the vegetation on the sides of the pond started to yellow about 4 weeks into it.What a relief and the fish can see the sky again and we can enjoy feeding them. Worth every penny and I have enough to do two treatments next year.Just be sure to follow the directions and accurately measure the volume of your pond.

Took care of my watermeal and duckweed
It’s 2025 now and yet ANOTHER price hike. 15% this time. Getting oldThis product does have a pretty short shelf life and it does not work quite as well if it has sat too long. It even begins to solidify. I always like to be prepared and have things ahead of time, but this I will wait to buy until I’m ready to use it. I would recommend buying this about a month before you plan to use it or sooner. That all being said, I will absolutely continue using this product.I live in central Ohio and my pond is about a 1/4 acre 12ft at the deepest. Didn’t work over night obviously, but ultimately eliminated ALL of my duckweed AND watermeal. I applied (2) 8oz applications, spaced out several weeks, immediately after the spring rains seemed to be over. A huge added benefit was that it completely eliminated all of my shoreline weeds as well, saving me a lot of line trimming. For what it’s worth, I also applied 4 gallons of dye throughout the season. I will absolutely be buying this again in the spring.

Works
Usually works well, but unusual heavy rain washed it out of pond. So, back to drawing board.

Works on water meal and other floating weeds.
Easy to use. I added pond dye first and this product. I just mixed some in with the pond water and spread on the edge of the pond. It took about a month but now the pond looks so much better. I used 4 fl. oz. on 1/4 acre pond. The pond was covered with water meal and duckweed. Attached are before and after photos of our pond taken about one month apart.

Bye, Bye Duckweed
This product worked great! Our pond was completely covered in duckweed and within a week we could see changes and at the end of the 2nd week the pond was clear. We will buy again if we have the same problem.
