Power Beat Head / Skin for Doumbek / Darbuka 8.75"

Easier than I expected to install on my two older darbukas. Sounds great! I was considering buying a new drum - but now I have 2 that sound new with these drumheads.

Used to repair an old drum.

Put this head on Nancy's heavy Egyptian style darbuka before this weekend's drum circle. It's thicker than the original, which revealed even more stick bites when removed. We just love the full, bright voice now. Deep doums and sharp teks that ring beautifully. Delighted with the results.

The first picture shows that this drum head isn't thick enough to be level with this type of egyyption drum. This leaves a sharp edge you hand is playing against. The second picture is the drum without a head. The thirs picture is the old head, level with the edge. We are returning this because it doesn't fit. The diameter fits fine, but the thickeness, how much the plastic surface doesn't reach the top edge is why we can't use this drum head. It is too bad, because the quality of the plastic is better than on the old head. We will have to keep looking for the right size.

Will buy again.
