They have a nice, wide flat surface with which a good water tight seal can be achieved.. And they are definitely sturdy enough to maintain it.. But is with this edge that I found the items only fault.. As it came, this edge was not flat, as it had flashing left over from the injection molding of the part.. While present on all 4 of the spots, it was the worst on the one shown in the second picture.. It's not a big deal to smooth it out, but just be aware you will need too if you expect to achieve a good water tight seal..
