The majority of the book contains lists of accomplishments that are somewhat oddball in nature - the type of statistics that you would not find in a Baseball Encyclopedia. A couple of examples are 'Most Home Runs By Left-Hand Hitting Shortstops' and 'Oldest Pitchers To Win 20 Games For The First Time'. There are hundreds of these types of lists and they are all fascinating. The last third of the book contains summaries of all major league teams throughout history. It contains the team record for each year, who managed the teams, Hall of Famers who played on the team, players from the team who led the league in various batting and pitching categories and history of postseason play. I want to thank the editors and publisher for issuing this 4th edition which is updated through the 2015 baseball season. I've owned the second edition (2010) for many years and had been referencing it to this day. Review: Very interesting, but did not arrive “new”. - Why can’t desertcart bubble wrap books? This item was just tossed in a box with other items. It arrived with bent pages- no longer a “new” item. I’m sure the box was jostled, thrown, stacked upside down, etc. on its way to me. It was intended to be a gift, but now will just save it to share with our stats loving baseball fan. The book is filled with so much info and I would recommend it for the fun and trivia it brings.

nothing from the 2020 season onward
lists after lists after lists. love that. But I did not realize that there is nothing about the last 5 seasons of MLB. No Aaron Judge pursuit of Mantle, no Framber Valdez consecutive game streak, no Luis Arraez pursuit of batting 400.

Must buy for the baseball fan who loves stats
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my grandpa who loves baseball stats. He calls me to tell the things he has looked up in this book. He truly loves this book. I'm so glad that I bought it for him.

This isn't really a stats book like any other. You'll find some interesting and amusing catogories such like: -Most time at bat without a hit, season -Fewest singles, season (min 150 games) -.400 hitters and how their team finished -Players hitting .300 in their only major league season (min 100 games, 300 AB) -Champions whose next season batting average declined the most -Players hitting home run in first AB, never hitting another... However, the treasure of the book relies on those brilliant and unorthodox stats which makes us discovers great players you never noticed before such like: -General Crowder, a starting pitcher with the Washington Senators and St-Louis Browns who had 21-5, 26-13 and 24-5 seasons with little support -Johnny Cooney, a 20 years outfielder for the Boston Braves and Brooklyn Dodgers who had a tremendous career. I thank Bert Randolf Sugar for having me discover those 2 players.

Completo, tem estatísticas que para o apreciador do Baseball são um deleite de minúcias. Quem quiser saber quaisquer itens de Pitchers e Hitters tem que possuir esse almanaque, é surpreendente.
