Q: What information on this screen is different than the remastered 5e DM screen?

It is all info pertaining to water deep. Inns and taverns in the city. Random city encounters, daytime and night time. Plus a lot more

Q: How hard to you have to try to choke on this? What "small parts" does it include?

This hardcover screen is the size of a coffee-table book when folded. The "small parts" you are referring to is part of the standard disclaimer printed on the packaging of most products that are considered a "toy." The plastic wrap appears too small to be a suffocation hazard and the outer coverslip might cause papercuts if not handled properly. Otherwise, there is no danger of choking on this screen.

Q: Is this really helpful?

For GameMastering a city campaign, yes! The GM's side has Waterdeep's Legal Code (abbreviated), two encounter lists (daytime & nighttime scenes), a list of inns, taverns, and festhalls by city ward, a random chart for pickpocket's finds, and a broadsheet list. But I had a bad experience with this product because I purchased it for the cover art. Unfortunately, Gale Force Nine used Steve Prescott's art for the slip-cover and hide the actual player-side cover art from buyers. (Prescott is one of my favorite Dungeons and Dragons artist.) All of the illustrations were done by other fantasy artist. I kept my screen for the game information printed on it. But I cannot trust Gale Force Nine anymore. I hope you have a better experience with your DM screen.

There is not, however the picture on the box is very detailed and easy to copy. GF9 minis are extremely detailed, but can be brittle. Be careful how you handle it. It’s one of my favorite pieces
