Not Damascus
FAKEThe knife is not Damascus due to the pattern in the gut hook not matching the pattern on the main bevel next to it. Be sides it not being real Damascus it was still a good daily carry. It needed to get a good sharpen but it keeps an edge quite well. It can also be a good substitute for a cooking knife when camping.

A gift for my boyfriend and He loves it
My former Marine hero loves his knives. This one he uses for many things and it's not too big to carry around. He uses it for the simple things and to protect me when he heats something that's question able. I've never felt safer in my life with the former Marine that would do anything to keep me safe

Not what's advertised
If I could give this knife zero stars, I would. This knife isn't worth the money. First off, this is NOT damascus steel. The pattern doesn't match up with the gut hook. Damascus steel should also be sharp. This knife was so dull, it wouldn't even cut butter.Secondly, the gut hook is more than half way down the knife. It's so close to the handle, your hand slides across the skin when cutting a deer.Thirdly, the handle. The handle was completely a different color. Plus, there was a chip in the handle like it was broken.I understand handmade items will vary in some ways. However, I received something completely different than what was stated and shown. I'm deeply embarrassed to give this so my son as a present.

Durable, a knife for generations. Blade and handle are beautifully made. Words can not express how sweet this knife is!

beautiful knife for the price
knife came quickly, packaged well, and ample amount of oil on it. I read in other reviews it came with some corrosion on the blade. the one I received did not have this problem. I did however have a weird blue crust on the handle that was very difficult to remove. it looked like something transferred on to the handle during the epoxy glue up. knife did not have sharp edge and the gut hook was non existent, but that was fixed easily.
