Nice monitor. Menu buttons need a different configuration.
I purchased this monitor after a similarly-configured Lenovo monitor bricked on me only a couple months out of warranty. This ViewSonic isn't quite the looker as the Lenovo, but it's ergonomically superior in some respects, and I think the screen is brighter and has better viewing angles. I also like the arrangement of the USB ports for extra peripherals just behind the screen on the user's left hand side as they're easier to access. My one complaint is about the user interface. On the front of the monitor on the lower bezel is the power button, a button that allows you to switch viewing modes, and four other menu buttons. Those four other menu buttons pull up a unified menu but serve other functions once the menu is activated (one for up, one for down, one to select, and one to exit). That all makes sense, of course, but, for the way I work, a one-button option for switching inputs would be far, far more useful than a one-button solution to switch viewing modes. I'm a grown man with no time for games - this monitor is for my work. But I have two computers - my work and my personal. I've literally never, in over a year, needed to change color/brightness settings via the viewing mode button. But I do switch inputs multiple times a day, so, having just one button to press to quickly switch inputs would make far more sense.

AMAZING monitor!!
This monitor is AWESOME! It looks good, it was easy to set up, and the picture is great. But the best part is the USB-C. I'm using a ThinkPad T16 and with this monitor, I don't need my dock or my AC adapter anymore! Now I just have a single USB-C cable coming from the monitor, I plug it into my ThinkPad, and I'm ready to work! My USB mouse and USB headset are plugged into the monitor. The USB-C cable is driving the monitor, and it's also charging my ThinkPad at the same time. How cool is that!If I had one suggestion about what could make this monitor better, I wish there were more USB ports on the back. There are 2 USB ports on the side, but I wish these were on the back instead, because that would help with cable management for peripherals like my mouse and headset which are always plugged into the monitor. One other thing - it comes with a USB-C cable; the product description doesn't say anything about this, and I ended up ordering a USB-C cable separately which was not needed.

Pairs with a 2017 MacBook Pro perfectly! (Use a USB-C 3.1 connection)
To start, let me reiterate what's already been shared. This monitor will only work with a Mac laptop with a USB-C 3.1 connector. I originally tried using my USB-C charging cable that I use to power my laptop and that DOES NOT WORK. I went to the Apple Store to buy a Belkin USB-C 3.1 cable. I told the Apple Store clerk I needed this cable for use with a Monitor and they tried convince me I would need a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C cable instead. I ended up buying both and they both work, but I will be returning the Thunderbolt cable because it was $10 more expensive (And .2 meters shorter ). I should gone with my gut, now I have another errand to run. Just get the Belkin USB-C 3.1 and the monitor is plug and play!I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of this monitor, after adjusting the Color/Brightness/Contrast I've got it matching my Mac laptop Retina display very nicely. I will say, the brightness on the laptop can go maaaybe a hair brighter than the monitor, but it's barely noticeable. Also the sharpness on the monitor looks great, but it's not quite as clear as the laptop. That means this probably isn't the best monitor for high end detailed Video/Graphic design work, but for everything else this monitor is excellent. The aspect ratio on the monitor is a little wider than the laptop so you have to deal with a tiny sliver of letterboxing on the laptop. (You can also opt for vertical letterboxing on the monitor, but this doesn't look as good).Other great features: The USB-C 3.1 cable will charge your laptop while also presenting the display. There are an additional 3 standard USB ports. I've tested out the usb connections and the devices I've tested have worked perfectly with my laptop. This is a great bonus. Also, the stand was so easy to set up. The monitor snaps into place and the base screws into the neck with a single flat head screw (But it has a twist handle so you don't even need a screw driver. The stand is heigh adjustable and also rotates about its vertical axis and tilts up and down. The best part is it also rotates about its depth axis so you can work on projects in Portrait rather than landscape orientation. Perfect for writing. The speakers on this thing are awful, but I can't imagine anyone would buy a monitor for audio quality. Grab a pair of external speakers and you'll be set.Overall, this a great deal for a very good 1440p monitor with some useful additional features. I recommend it for use with a mac laptop for anything other than high end video/graphic work. For everyday use, it's excellent.

Good quality and value - really pleased
Having tried a few monitors for our organisation, this one has been the best great value for quality and features in the under £150 category.Really appreciate the USB-c connection to easily connect with our Macbook Air 2020, but also works with my Dell too. As it has 3 USB ports (for mouse, keyboard, etc) and can charge via USB-c, I only have one cord into the laptop; so serves as a great docking station. The USB-c ability will also be useful as many at our organisation use Chromebooks, which many no longer have HDMI ports. The menu buttons are intuitive and well displayed and the monitor is height adjustable. The speakers aren't great, but I have yet to find any in this category value category that do.Can very much recommend if the above features would be useful.I don't often leave a review, but have been very please with this, so wanted to share.

Clear, bright display with height adjustment
Nice monitor with height adjustment and nearly all the connectors you could need for PCs - only missing a DVI.It is pretty heavy, but that's mainly the stand. Also no VESA mount, but the height and tilt on the stand is good.

Technical problems and poor customer service
I ordered one of these a couple of years ago for my office and it works great so I decided to get another one for my home. I ordered it in January and it didn't work - when I plug it into my laptop it keeps disconnecting. I've had an endless back and forth with them involving speaking to an engineer, sending the monitor in for repair (which meant me having to wait all day for DHL), them sending it back (again meaning I again had to stay in all day) and it STILL doesn't work. Meaning I haven't had a working monitor in over 6 weeks. And I haven't had an apology from them for the inconvenience of all this

Good budget choice
Loved the ease of set-up and the ability to easily change screen angle and height. It’s a good picture quality also. Use two of these with my MacBook Pro 2021
