Buddha Bowls Cookbook 2018: A Life and Body Changer

too simplistic
I was hoping for simple recipes with solid flavors. These are too simple to deliver good flavor. For example, the peanut sauce recipe calls for peanut butter, some soy milk and salt. On the other hand, there are far too many recipes with long lists of ingredients, and multiple prep steps. I was wanting something my novice chef husband could open to and follow without frustration, discouragement, and disappointment. This did not deliver. As others mentioned, no photos at all, which is a solid turn off for him, so I would have to guide him through ever recipe. I'm dealing with a broken arm that has affected my hand and shoulder, so not the help we need.

Buddha Bowls Cookbook
I read many of the reviews and they said there were pictures in this book. I received it and not one photo throughout. Had I known that, I would not have bought it. It was a gift, so I cannot speak to the recipes. But disappointed there were no pictures.

Bait and switch
Definitely not a book that retails for $55! Some good information but the only photos are on the front cover and nothing about smoothies!? So don't know if this is a bait and switch but thankful I purchased it at the lightning price of just over $5! The book shows it retails for $9 on the back. Don't be fooled.

Buddha's Belly was caused by fatty salad dressing
I mostly love this book. Buddha Bowls are a fantastic way to up your veggie and fruit stats for better nutrition. You feel just downright righteous when you have one for lunch. Unfortunately, the dressings included are total fat bombs - completely delicious, mind you - but negates the nutrition in all the veggies. IMO, of course. It's a fun book to read. Again IMO, it's fun to make them - I like chopping. And they're pretty.Me likey.

most excellent recipe book
Delicious and healthy recipes that are fun to prepare. I have already made several of these and plan several more in the immediate future. Delicious, simple to prepare and all ingredients readily available at my grocery store. One trip to World Market filled in the very few gaps. My family loves them and they are quite satisfying and nutritious.

No photos!!!!
Lovely cover but no photos inside which is very uninspiring and for some random reason there is a recipe on the back page where the blurb usually is. Wish I hadn’t bought it!

Not what I expected
I don't know this author and purchased this on a whim for $7.04 but I wouldn't have bought it if the preview had shown more pages. I think it's self-published so it's unfortunate that the 4 page Table of Contents print is faded as it looks cheap and unprofessional, and it strains my eyes.I don't understand the 4 and 5 star reviews on Amazon.com as reviewers refer to photos (there are none in this book) and recipes not in this book (Harissa chicken / Strawberry banana nice cream bowl). What jumps out at me is the glaringly wrong calorie count for several recipes as Peanut Butter Sauce (page 21) has 2 tablespoons PB yet is only listed as 68 calories, and Oats & Banana (page 34) contains 1.1/2 bananas, almond butter, almond milk, chocolate chips, rolled eats, chia seeds, 6 bananas round slices, and slivered almonds - for one serving at 213 calories. And Apple & Banana Bowl (page 108) is 1 cup apple, 3 cups cubed banana, 1 cup dark chocolate syrup, 4 cups cooked rolled oats - for one serving at 492 calories. This book may be well intentioned but seems rushed to print. Not sure if I'll keep it or donate it. I can't recommend it unless the next edition is corrected.

Disappointing
If you're the kind of person who needs photos with your power bowl recipes, than this cookbook is not for you. There are zero photos so unfortunately the recipes seem very uninspiring.
