Does it work as a reusable filter cartridge? Also, does it work for a 30-gallon tank?

I dont believe its reusable. I change mine. I believe they work. i have a 20 gallon version. I see a 30 gallon pictured....Ive no proof that they do in fact work though.

I don't have a aqua clear power filter, i have a canister filter. will this work for me??

We use ours with the Aqua Clear filter. You'd be better off getting the media suggested for use with your brand of filter.

Can this reduce water hardness?

Yes it did. I have been using it over a year now. I have no problem at all.
