Great, inexpensive power supply.
Purchased this item to replace the 200 watt unit in my HP Pavilion 742n bought back in 2002. The old unit was working fine but I replaced the motherboard with one with a faster CPU that required a minimum of 230 watts. At first, I thought that I was going to have to return it. The old unit was 4 inches long and this unit is 5 1/2 inches long. When I installed it, it was so close to the DVD ROM that the wiring was smashed up against it. This tower originally came with both a CD ROM and DVD ROM. I had already replaced the CD ROM with an HP 1140i DVD/CD writer Lightscribe unit. I noticed that it was shorter and didn't have a clearance issue like the DVD ROM. I don't use the DVD ROM and didn't really need it since I got the 1140i so I just removed it. Problem solved! I'm glad that I was able to get it to fit. The safety features of this unit give me added peace of mind. It has 6 four pin molex connectors, 2 more than the original unit, which came in handy. I was using a splitter with the original unit to power a PCI slot cooling fan and exhaust fan. The unit is very quiet. Overall, I'm very pleased with this item.

Great bargain; for Quiet, 300 watt PS. V. Pleased
Paid $27.24 ttl ( after Amazon discounted price, FREE saver shipping and $5.00 BillMeLater discount). :<)Power supply is QUIETER than orginal DELL PS ( also quieter than BESTBUY $80 PS to be returned );-)It has all the connections ( and more ) that the original PS in my 6 yr. old Dell Dimension had. Connected easily and snugly.Unit fits snugly in case. PS Screw holes just slighly mis-aligned to case ( BESTBUY $80 did fit perfectly ).If you need a 330 watt PS; don't hesitate on this one.note : I hope it DOES last longer than a previous reviewer's 15 mos.re: SuperSaver shipping : Ordered late FRIDAY Shipped TUESDAY ARRIVED WEDNESDAY. :-)[ instructions ? We don't need NO stinkin Instructions! ]

Perfect replacement for orignal ATX supply build in 2003
My original ATX power supply manufactured in 2003 was damaged by a power surge. Usually (though not always) surge damage is limited to the supply itself, so I ordered the StarTech supply with the same 300 watt rating as the original. The mounting screws are all the same, as is the cable harness with a 20-pin connector for the motherboard. All the other cables matched up as well, so installation was easy. The only difference is that the new supply has manual on/off switch on the back panel, and the old one didn't. Once I remembered to turn that on, the computer powers up when I press the power button and works perfectly.

Meh
Remember to change the voltage switch before you power it on! Heh.But that aside, it does the job and is fairly reasonable for the price. I found mine leaking a bit of current to earth which would trip my RCD breaker every now and then which is annoying... but otherwise it's pretty decent for the price.

Danger!
Be on notice this PS does not have but one (1) SATA terminal and you will have to find MOLEX to SATA jumpers if your machine has more than one SATA connection !!!I am returning this Power Supply. I want the correct terminals without needing to cob together a hack-job wiring system.

perfect fit for 15 year old HP a450y desktop
I had to fix my dead 15 year old HP a450y desktop. This power supply fit exactly and took less time to install (small phillips screwdriver was the only tool needed ) than it took to figure out why everything worked fine except the wireless keyboard. New batteries, dummy! My tip is to label your old connections as you take them off the drives as this replacement PS comes with more connectors than you'll need. Then just match new for old and leave the rest just dangling. Easy!

Perfect, worked well for HP m7160n Desktop
The power supply in our HP m7160n burnt out because of a power outage. It would not turn on again afterwards.I ordered this to replace our old power supply. Although the motherboard on the PC has a 24 pin connector, and this PSU has a 20 pin connector, it worked fine, as expected. The additional 4 pins are extra power pins by design, and anybody with a 24 pin motherboard should not hesitate in ordering this product. I simply left the last 4 pins empty and it worked without issues.I recommend it for anyone trying to replace the PSU on their old computer.

Right price poor instructions
This unit was the proper replacement part for my computer, but the instructions how to install it into a computer were quite lacking. I ended up having to take it to a computer repair place to have it put in. Luckily I had already installed it Into the tower they just changed a placement of one of the plugs. They only charge me for cleaning of the tower and that was it.

Excellent Power Supply for Older Computers
I needed a replacement power supply for an AMD XP 2400 computer. One of my biggest concerns was that I had to have a unit with long enough internal lines to reach from the power supply mounting bracket to the motherboard and all of the peripherals. This power supply fits the bill.Pros:- Plenty of LP4 power connectors for peripherals- great length to all of the internal cables (especially good for larger cases)- quiet fan- 2 year warrantyCons:- none

Easy to install
Worked great. The motherboard connector did not match my current motherboard but was still able to plug it in and get it working. Computer has been working without issue for a month.
