STANLEY Hand Saw with Mitre Box, 12-Inch (19-800)

Good item. A little flimsy but gets the job done and comes with a nice saw. Ok value. Designed to do what you need to do with it.

Good sturdy, well made product

Works very well. Cuts are very clean and angles are great. Plastic is very thin and cheap. Should really be secured to a bench or something as it slides all around and since the wood isn't clamped in it can be a pain in the rear.

Great miter saw I have used this many times no problems you think it may cut into plastic to much and it does not it has a good back saw with it and it is good.

I’ve used this quite a bit for crafting with smaller pieces of wood and it works great! I haven’t tried it with thicker wood yet.

Great for what I have to do for trim in my house. I’m no carpenter and this tool is wonderful. I was able to make precision cuts first time and every time.

For the price I was not expecting much from this Mitre box. I used the 45 degree slants on 1 1/2" soft wood, which produced fairly accurate cuts, but not perfect. There was an extremely loud and obnoxious noise that was created during the cuts, which emitted a high pitched squeaking from the blade rubbing up against the plastic. It was quite difficult to cut through all the way, which resulted in me having to sand down what was left (which was highly unsatisfactory). The middle slot was not as noisy, and I found it easy to cut in that slot. This would be a good purchase if you are on a very tight budget, don't mind the noise, and are not worried about perfection in your cuts.

This mitre box works exactly as advertised. The reviewers who complained that it isn't durable enough don't seem to understand it's purpose. This is not a mitre box designed for cutting large pieces of wood. It's perfect for cutting floor moldings and things like that, which is exactly what I used it for.

I'm writing this review and giving this miter box and back saw 5 stars because I didn't expect much for this low price. You aren't going to get some awesome heavy duty, high quality tools for $20. So I was happy with what I got. Sure the box is plastic, so it's going to wear away around the cutting guide slots....that's just plain logic! The saw itself seems pretty sharp. So just be careful when cutting your wood. Try not to gouge the miter box too much and it will last longer. Also, these are not meant for hard woods or heavy duty jobs. These are mainly for soft trim and wood moldings. You might get away with cutting plastic trim and PVC piping, but definitely NOT steel. Overall, good purchase if you don't expect miracles.

Decent product. I expected a cross cut saw, considering it came with a miter box, got a rip cut saw. This being a 15 ppi saw, it's not easy to change the teeth configuration. A slight dissapointment, but I should have confirmed first.
