Product description Powell Peralta Rat Bones Skateboard Wheels 60mm 85a - Black (4 pack) Original shape, in the formula you can trust. Wheel Diameter = 60mm Wheel Width = 44mm Durometer/Hardness = 85A Wheel Shape = Rat Bone Wheel Formula = Natural The Rat Bones wheel was actually a "Rollerbones" product. Rumor has it that while visiting the company one day, Steve Caballero saw the wheels and wanted to try them out on his skateboard. He liked them. The wheels were much lighter than Cubics and Mini Cubics which were eventually phased out in favor the newly dubbed "Rat Bones." Review: sweet wheels - Love these. Been riding Rat Bones for years. 60/85a is perfect all around. And the black goes with my new Indy Blackouts. Review: "Sick" - That is what a kid 30 years my junior said when he tried my board that had these. I even compared them on smooth asphalt with my real old-school Sims B-52s with Swiss bearings and they are much faster! The smaller wheels on most modern skateboards make popping ollie style tricks easier, but for practically everything else, these rule! And these are made in the USA too. Update 1/20/2011: I setup 3 skateboards. My Rat Bones board (Powell Daggers deck with Indy 169's), a new school board with Indy 139's and nice Bones STF 53MM wheels, and a Sector 9 Longboard: 1. New School - Easiest to pop Ollies and do modern kick-flip style tricks. The small, lightweight Bones STF wheels really work well here. Skating the downhill parking lot into the skate park, it is good for about 10MPH all the way down. I complete the frontside turn at the bottom and basically stop at the small drainage ditch before entering the park. Kind of boring. 2. Rat Bones: Start heading down the downhill parking lot. It is a cold day and I have the park all to myself. As my speed increases I can start to feel the windchill. About halfway down I'm going a little faster than the new school board. Cool. Wait a second! I am still going faster - too fast to jump off and I still got a way to go before making the turn. I think I am in trouble. I hit the turn still accelerating and thinking I am about to eat it really bad. A hard longboard style frontside turn slows me enough that I can ollie over the ditch and into the park and up the volcano. The Rat Bones are also faster in every part of the concrete park, especially the pool and half-pipe. 3. Longboard - Sector 9 boards and wheels are also made in the US like Powell decks, Rat Bones and Indy trucks. It is a longboard - well suited for high speed carving and a smooth ride. The Sector 9 wheels are smoother than the Rat Bones but slightly slower. Bottom line: For most types of general riding, these wheels are Da Bomb! Get a set. You might have to use 1/4" risers to avoid wheel bite. Also, be careful the first time you skate something that you are used to in new school wheels. You might find yourself going a lot faster!

one of the best options out there
i weigh 82kgs and ride cruisers, skateboards and longboards. i've tried many different brands (sector 9, orangatang, abec11, bones, etc) and i find the Powell Peralta, 60mm, 85A, (44mm width) wheel ideal for all terrain riding....soft enough to be quiet, smooth and fast, and also hard enough to slide down tarmac and be durable. sugary buttery slides (not icey). i believe that the 90A duro would be too hard and noisy. the width of the wheel is also ideal. not too narrow, not too wide. very stable at speed down tarmac roads but not too wide for skating on flat roads and surfaces. i've tried the 88a duro in abec 11 noskoolz and they are loud compared to these i strongly recommend these wheels (60mm, 85A) great value for money. i've ordered more sets because these are well worth it

Awesome re-issues
Great wheels for street and sidewalk cruising on my old school set up. Really smooth out the rough surfaces while still maintaining speed. I like them alot.

Best pool wheels ever.
Best pool board wheels hands down. Never flat spot, roll fast, great grip no matter what surface, butter.

For 10" reissue decks these are the gotta have pool / park wheels
30 years later these reissue bones are still the same as the originals, Smooth, quiet and grippy. For 10" wide reissue OG boards these are the wheels you gotta try first. I bet you wont want to try anything else after you glide the Rat Bones. The feel, The sound, The grip, and best of all The SMILE all comes back in your first push. When I was a teen I had to save up to buy my Powell ripper with bones wheels. Now I can better afford to build better than imagined and these wheels with super reds took my vintage build to cloud 10.

Great Wheels
Wanted to get into freestyle so I got these wheels. They make your skateboard feel like a tank! If you think that's a bad thing don't get them (though I doubt this is exclusive to these freestyle wheels), but I personally love it. I used to not be able to ride around my campus, but now I am able to with only minimal difficulties in sections that are particularly badly paved. Due to the larger diameter, the wheels do bite a lot easier, so I had to tighten my trucks quite bit. Getting riser pads could be another solution, but since the wheels also add height to the board, I didn't want to get any (though I might in the future).

Great set of wheels
Great set of wheels. These wheels are very smooth to ride on decent pavement, especially through pebbles (size of standard marbles) which is a plus. These wheels can't roll over everything, but in a modern city, these wheels will do just fine. White print may peel off, keep that in mind.
