Meh. Don't believe YouTube vids.. it sucks...
I wanted to compare the Ring, Sengled and Nest to see which ones were the best. The main issue with this one is that the night vision sucks. It's own LED light (that you can't shut off) reflects off of the glass and even when you cover it up with opaque tape, it still picks up too much reflection (even when pressed against the glass) to be of any use. It supposedly has a superior face tracking function, but what good is it if it can't pick up the image? Also, the tuning on the unit is minimal. Don't like the app at all and the monitoring is overly expensive. It's probably okay monitoring yourself indoors, since the light blinks when you activate the live view - so perfect for narcissists and exhibitionists - again, useless for home security and you don't want to tip off the burglars you called the cops.

Google Ridiculousness..
This camera does not allow the user to control key features. You cannot control the night vision lens, but you can control the IR lights. If you’re facing this camera inside of a window, you have two choices: turn off night vision and see nothing at night or turn on night vision and see nothing at night thanks to the glare reflected by the infra red lights. The camera intelligently switches the lens to infra red sensitivity only when the night vision feature is turned on, so you will find little use for this camera unless you place electrical tape over the IR lights. This could be solved easily by giving the customer the ability to control the infra red lights. Second, and most recently (yesterday), Google has taken away the ability to turn off the green status light which lets users know the camera is recording. The light is always on now and your camera is now an announcement for thieves or any other unscrupulous individuals. Google says the following:“Recently, we shared our commitment to privacy to outline how our products work in your home. As part of that commitment, we explained that you will always see a clear visual indicator when your Nest cameras are on and sending video and audio to Nest.So we’re changing how the status lights function on Nest cameras, Dropcam, and Nest Hello. You will be able to dim the light on your camera, but it will always be on when the camera is on. We’re doing this to make sure you, and those around your camera, are aware when the camera is on and recording.Starting today, we’re rolling out the following changes:• In Settings for all Nest cameras and Nest Hello, the ability to turn off the status light will be removed. Instead, you’ll be able to dim the status light. When the camera is on, the status light will glow green.• For Dropcam, the setting to turn off the status light will be removed. When the camera is on, the status light will glow blue.• On Nest Cam, Dropcam, and Nest Hello, the status light will blink when the camera’s live video is streamed from the Nest app. The setting to turn this off will be removed. We’re making these changes for greater transparency and privacy in your home. You can learn more about the status light updates here.If you have questions or need additional details, please contact support.- The Google Nest team“Bottom line: Google doesn’t care about the privacy of their customers. Why would they care for customer privacy when the customer agreed to the TOS? They already have the right to spy on customers. What they ARE concerned about is protecting themselves from invading the privacy of your guests or passerby's because they may not have the right to the data of strangers. Google is using these devices to spy on you, and you gave them permission to do so. These devices are typically in common places where non-customers are also being spied upon unintentionally. They want to make sure they have done everything in their power to ensure these non-customers are aware they are being spied upon even if the customer fails to inform them of the recording devices. Google doesn’t care about protecting your privacy or security because they can legally collect and disseminate your data, but they cannot legally collect on strangers. What they really want is your money and your data (which helps them target your money) if you have agreed to the TOS. Don’t like their practices, then don’t support Google. It’s that simple. They want to spy on you and they want to control the spying tools. You are paying them to take control of devices you think you own.

Nest is BEST for my nest!
This camera was a bit pricey, but worthwhile! I must say that I prefer the white Nest camera versus the black ones. It matches with the outdoor Nest cameras that I also have and has a slimmer and cleaner look. I was not surprised at the quality and sharpness of the picture as it shows well in day and at night like my outdoor Nest products; this is just not hardwired. I like how you can identify familiar and unknown faces. The aerial view that you can receive is vast. I noticed the camera zooms in when you are looking at a particular shot. It is seemingly smart as to what you are trying to zoom in on as well. I use this camera in my living room as my nanny cares for my son. I use the Blink camera in the baby nursery and the blue light is very annoying! The Nest does not emit a shining bright light. It also comes with a mount and screws and anchors. The Blink did not include the anchors for drywall anchoring. I highly recommend this product as it meets all of my surveillance needs. You can also add this product to the existing Nest camera app.

I'm a Nest fan and I dont like this.
I'm extremely disappointed in the quality for a $300 camera. I have it set to max bandwidth and I get 400 MBps download speeds. The picture attached is of my cat at roughly 10 to 20 feet at most. The quality when zoomed in is just horrendous. I understand its for indoors and you're not going to be reading license plates or something, but its just flat out terrible. I bought the cheaper (NON-IQ) version and it was only slightly worse quality. For almost 3x the cost of their non iq version you would expect 3x the quality.Returning.

Good camera Not great price
Pros: camera quality is better than most cameras during the daytime. Easy set up. Nest platform is easy to use. Nice app for my phone.Cons: Camera quality at night is not great. Nest Aware (Data storage) subscription is expensive as they charge for each camera, although the second camera is less expensive. Expensive to purchase 1, but the 2 camera package is more reasonably priced.

Must have!
I wish I would have bought this sooner. I’m not a super “tech savvy” person so I was a bit afraid to get it. However it was beyond easy to set up and works great! Picture is crisp and night vision is great!Definitely going to get more!

Nest makes the best indoor / outdoor camera, bar none
I own both Nest indoor and outdoor cameras. Quality is unmatched. 30 day video retrieval is possible with minimal charge from Nest. Cameras work with your smartphone and you can download any video and save clips. Best on the market. You will NOT be disappointed.
