Complete Blues Guitar Method: Mastering Blues Guitar, Book & DVD (Complete Method)

This is a really great instruction method, I love it. I'm not a very good guitar player at all but I just love the blues. This book and CD have taught me a fair amount of theory, along with some really cool licks and chords that are a staple in playing blues music. And I am only on page 27! Being able to not only hear a professional play the bit you are learning, but watch HOW he plays it in the video is a huge help in learning a new lick or phrase that eventually leads to a full 12 bar blues with a little turnaround. I highly suggest having some way to record yourself and play it back. That way you can record a simple 12 bar rhythm using the various dominant and diminished 7th chords you learn early on, then play it back while you play licks and interval techniques to play on top of the recording. This helped me tremendously to get my timing right when playing with other instruments. I use a simple looper pedal hooked in between my guitar and amplifier to do the recording and playback and it works great!

Awesome set. Rebought these after twenty years and still piecing together lessons I didn't understand in my teens.

Excellent- far better than 1st edition. The dvd is great and covers most examples- all others are on audio file and tab. Useful even for very experienced players.
