Works as it should.Of course there is always a little play as usual.Welds look good.Looks made pretty straight.Other than the little play, its pretty good.Installed a hitch tightening plate to compensate for the small amount of play.

I had an OEM 1-1/4 inch hitch installed in my 2024 Honda CRV sport touring. I needed a adapter for my bike rack and cargo holder. I was worried that this wasn't going to fit correctly and possibly interfere with the bumper. That is not the case, it fits great with plenty of clearance. I also feel more comfortable having this further off the ground. The only thing I wish I paid closer attention to is the fact that it does not come with 1/2 inch diameter steel hitch pin. So that will have to be a separate purchase. I will update further in a few weeks once I actually use it but It seems like it's a very sturdy build and I don't think I'll have any issues with it.

Having a small car makes you realize how much cargo space you don't have, especially in a Miata. Add to that the fact that I love going on road trips and I quickly start questioning my life decisions. No matter, I'll just install a hitch, then buy a hitch rack. Maybe I'll finally start biking when I get a bike rack as well. SURPRISE, a lot of the hitch attachments are only for 2-inch receivers. Yes, you can find 1-1/4 inch hitch attachments. BUT you are severely limited in styles, and they're usually harder to find. Enter this adapter. Not much to say about it other than the fact that it made my life so much easier. I'm able to carry all of my crap with me with the added bonus of not having to worry about driving into a driveway/parking lot/speed bump and scraping. In a pinch I had to transport an engine with the trans attached on a rack through this adapter. I was well over 400lbs. Did it hold up? Yeah. Was it stupid to do? You bet your behind. But that goes to show how well built this adapter is. Do not try this at home.

i used this to haul a dirtbike on a motorcycle carrier for about 250 miles and it held up great. no cracks and no bends.

Att: Australians. This is smaller than our small hitch but it can be adjusted. In photo you can see we have used 2 anti rattles sideways on the part that connects to our car. That worked great until we could get the maxxhaul into our 4WD and camper repair shop. They got a sleeve the same size as our larger 1 1/2 inch opening and welded the sleeve over the 1 1/4 inch maxxhaul I bought from here. As you can see in second photo you can’t tell it’s been adjusted its nice and secure and it doesn’t require any anti rattle anymore. I love the fact it lifts our cargo carrier higher so we don’t have to worry about speed humps and it’s higher for easy loading. Highly recommend. Sorry it has taken a month for the review but we wanted to show it fitting nice.

Build quality looks to be excellent. Perfect for cargo carriers and bike racks. Helps keep them from hitting ramps upon exiting or the road upon entering. Absolutely not for towing! Do not use this for towing, it's not strong enough for that.

My 1 1/4 inch receiver is Class I. And I need a 4 bike hitch rack, most of which come with 2 inch receiver. Did some research and decided give it try with a adapter. I am happy with this adapter for 1) it is very solid made 2) it raise the 2 inch receiver by few inches, which is important for my Impreza. This adapter add 6 inch on top of the original designed tow weight's ball position (11 inches). That means to reduce the tow weight by 30-50%. I ended up compensate the number with a 3000lbs ratchet tie down help to stabilize the bike rack. Both 1.25 and 2 inch receiver installed with a hitch tightener to reduce the play. For the 1.25 inch receiver, I did not put a lock and just get a 3/8 by 3 inch hex bolt with two nuts plus lock washer. My first run is about 40km away from home with 3 bikes around 90lbs. The whole rack stays quite stable during the trip. Will do a further cross city run next few days and see if this adapter + hitch tightener + ratchet tie down combo will last.

Hitch insertion is extremely small , may 1.5 x 1.5 inches. Very heavy item to post it back. Pin holes are too tiny. I take it’s to trailer building work shop and enlarge pin holes. One hole drilling enlargement cost $65. My vehicle is mid size SUV hitch is 1.8 x 1.8 inches. I doubt this size will not well fit to Australia vehicles all on the land. This must be removed from Amazon online.
