Polar Trailer 10738 HDM 1400 – Heavy-Duty Utility Trailer, 92" x 51" x 36", Military-Grade Steel Mesh, Rust-Resistant, 10-Minute Assembly

My final decision about purchasing this cart was made after watching a couple Youtube videos about it. I decided it would be an extremely beneficial item to have on the farm and would be much better than trying to tote my small road going utility trailer behind my ATV. With that was the plus of not needing to purchase a special hitch or adapter for either trailer or ATV. This hooks right up to what I have and goes over everything I can get my ATV over. I absolutely love this thing. It came on a pallet, dropped off by the freight carrier, right where I wanted it. I assembled it in my driveway by myself in a very short amount of time. I found the assembly instructions to be simple. You will need to use your own tools. Everything was there, everything was in pristine condition, welded well (I am a welder, so I did scrutinize freely), are sturdy, and everything went together and fit perfectly without issue. I couldn't have asked for any better buying or assembling experience. Admittedly, I had suffered a bit of spending regret initially after purchase, but it quickly dissipated on completion of assembly. Wheel to wheel, it is 2" wider than my ATV but much narrower and lighter than my standard, road going utility trailer and it follows around the tight spaces very well. I had not set this place up with the idea of ever using an ATV so that kind of agility is good! Empty, it is so light I can push and pull it around by hand. I love the kick/dump ability and that it swivels from the axle, though I have not used that feature yet. When I am ready to haul rocks and gravel, I'll line it with plywood and that will come in especially handy. Right now being able to get around the tight spots with a trailer and get what would be multiple trips with bales of hay and feed down to one load is pretty gratifying. Hauling logs, equipment, etc... this thing will get such a workout around here, it's not even funny.

My philosophy has always been to buy quality over lowest price, and this product met all my expectations for durability and quality, and it is a tad larger than expected, which is appreciated with yard work. It is sturdy, travels well over uneven terrain, and looks good. Two minor quibbles. 1) If you are assembling it by yourself, as I did, you might want to consider circus contortionist training; it is a challenge to work both sides of the bed at the same time. It would work better if you promise a friend a beer or two to secure one side as you work the other. 2) The product features a tractor-type attachment to your receiver. This is not a bad set up and easy to remove and attach, but the size of the pin holes on the cart is smaller than the holes on a standard receiver. This creates a jiggling effect with heavy loads. There are two simple solutions here the manufacturer might want to consider. Either make the trailer tongue holes the same size as a standard receiver to make it all snug, or include a receiver with holes of the proper size to match the cart. Quibbles aside, this is a quality product that will last for years and years.

This review is pertinent to the HDM 1400TA version of the Polar Utility Trailer. Product was delivered earlier than expected, was palletized and well wrapped. All parts were received in perfect condition. Assembly instructions were succinct and clear, and assembly took about an hour notwithstanding time to lay-out and inventory all the parts. Note the axle has Zerk fittings on either end for greasing presumeably before daily use as Operator maintenance is not addressed in Assembly pamphlet. Also, the manufacturer did not include rear gate coupler pins in the hardware kit which is a nit, not a problem. The trailer is super heavy duty, it handles well, the ride is stable. I've used it for a week now to haul firewood and it has been of tremendous benefit as I can haul a much larger load than would otherwise fit in the UTV. Great product, highly recommended as it will last a long time.

I have not had the opportunity to use this utility cart yet but it appears very sturdy and should fulfill my needs. The crating of this item could use some improvement I had to return the first trailer that I ordered, due to handling or shipping damage. The second one had some paint scraped on it as well. I decided to assemble and use it regardless. I'll touch up the paint myself.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: this item was suppost to come with four wheels thats what the picture of it showed

Love this trailer. It's perfect for my atv and very sturdy. Took me about 20 minutes to put it together which is nothing. I've hauled slash and logs around my property in it and it's held up great. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the hitch. When I put the atv in reverse, the trailer goes wherever it wants to, not like a regular ball hitch. That's picking at nits though because everything else about it is terrific.

Trailer arrived, packaged in good condition. Took about an hour to assemble - no issues. Haven't used it yet, but can't wait to put it to work.

Installed very easily. did it by myself in about 30 minutes. put tires on first before flipping and putting on bars instead of vice versa like the instructions directed. very sturdy and well made. worth the money. love the locking mechanism of the release. very sturdy and much stronger than my other pull trailer. looking forward to hauling wood and debris around my yard. the tires have great tread came fully inflated, makes the tires on my lawn tractor look worn out so I am going to have to upgrade tires on my tractor. LOL..
