Great saw, smallish handle.
Good, soild ,old school saw. Overall this saw is good. The blade holder is decent, the tightener is metal! That was my spot of concern. The blade is either really sharp, or mine was duller than a marble. For easy cuts, or less noise get one. Oh, my only issue. The handle is small for my large hands. I'm 6'2", with large palms , and long fingers, so that is my complaint. I grip it fine for a couple cuts, but I'd use something else for more.

Great for the price.
Great price at about $6 in 2014. The frame is all steel. The handle is a plastic mold around the metal frame. The tension screw is plastic which appears to be the only possible weak point but seems solid when used and gets the blade nice and tight with minimal effort, I think it is also molded around a metal core from the feel of it. I got this to cut a handful of aluminum thresholds and door sweeps to size and it made the job go fast and cut cleanly through thick aluminum. I didn't want my super sawzall bouncing all over marring the aluminum =)

A good choice for home and craft use.
A serviceable saw, that is decently made. It's not the same quality your father's Stanley tools had. It does the job and doesn't feel terribly cheap. I'd still buy the saw again and it's a very good choice considering what is available without spending a fortune.

Perfect for Small Projects/DIYs
I am so happy with this purchase because it was a great price and seems to be very sturdy and is definitely light weight. It can saw through screws and nails and will be so helpful with some of the small DIY projects I do for the house. It's also handheld so I am less worried about hurting myself with some huge saw that I don't know how to properly handle.

Stronger than nails
This tool had one goal: to remove the tops of galvanized screws that couldn't go all the way. I had two, so I gave each a turn. The saw was flexible enough for the fine serrated blade to reach the wall and then it became a familiar game of, "Find the sweet spot." Using as much of the blade as I could, each screw got two dozen strokes and the results were: one head just fell off after a twist with pliers and the other just slipped out. I might not need it again for a while, but it was worth every penny to fix that door.

As a novice to loner I think that going electric with better blades is the way to go
Even though I return this item it's not a ding against Stanley tools which are great, or using a hacksaw like this with very good blade included. I just think that I ended up going with a power circular corded saw with a 60 tooth optional blade that does what I need quicker faster and cleaner. Hacksaws are great but you might want to think about what you're using these things for and also look into some people who really beat these things up about the durability and expectations, buying saws especially for an amateur or first time purchase you should think hardand maybe consider a hand power tool and a good set of blades because I think the blades is what makes the difference in...the more teeth the merrier

Some Assembly Required
I cannot believe this did not come assembled! Finding all the pieces in the bag it arrived in and getting them together was not something I was expecting.

Does the job
I got this to cut trim and am very satisfied with it. My table saw does a great job too but seems like going overboard when all you need to do is cut few small pieces of thin trim. I also find it very convenient cause its so portable, does not make any noise and the job can be done anywhere - due to this convenience factor I have also been recently using it to cut a bit larger pieces of wood cause its just way to inconvenient to get the table saw going for couple of cuts. I will be cutting some metal soon and did get the appropriate blades for it so bonus points for the versatility ; )

Has a good weight in the hand and is comfortable to hold. Very efficient cutting blade. For under ten bucks hard to quibble with a Stanley product.
