The EVIL BAIN of my life!
I don’t usually write a review for items as I’m generally very happy with what I purchase on amazon. That being said, I’ve now decided to start. What can I say about the CR10 S5 3D printer?! Sadly, not a lot positive. On receipt of the printer, I have to say I was pretty impressed. Despite the instructions not being completely clear, and having spent 3 years running a workshop, I found it pretty easy to set up. Once everything was up and running and the bed leveled the CR10 printed beautifully! That is for about 2 months! That’s when it became the bain of my life!I can spend upto 3 hours trying to level the bed of this evil contraption, which has the amazing ability to diss align itself within seconds. And not just by a small margin. This not only happens after every print I do but within seconds of me complaining the alignment. The z accis, because it can and enjoys taunting me, will slowly lower one side of the print arm resulting in me having to have a spirit level on hand to continually ensure the arm is level. Within 3 months the fans also burnt out. But this was rectified with the help of the lovely seller who provided replacement parts.I’ve still had issues leveling the bed but after reviewing lots of YouTube videos of people with similar issues I found that the glass that sits on the heat bed is uneven. So much so that it dips in the center. This means that if the corners all balance out the center of the glass is upto 3 mm out. Turning the glass over has made things better but still not perfect. Also updating the firmware has proven so far to be impossible so no software updates. If you want a printer that you can just take out of the box, set up, download your designs to and press go then this isn’t the machine for you.On the other hand, if you want a printer that will test your patience, stress you out beyond belief, and turn You into a frustrated jibbering swearing wreck with language bluer then a laborer, then this is the printer for you!

CR10s 5 Beast
Arrived on time. Printer as Large, VERY LARGE (footprint about 650x900mm plus control box) went together easily (this is my 4th 3d printer), but had a dreadful noise on the Z axis and terrible movement on that axis. On closer inspection one of the screws that hold in the feed nut was missing (found it in the box) once that was replaced and the bed levelled it printed beautifully. So far the best quality I have seen on one of my printers. If you need the large size its a no brainer however due to the mass of the glass plate and the heated bed you need to keep the printing speed down so its slower than my Flashforge and makerbot machines. If you don't need the size get the smaller CR10s. Bed levelling on this size is a pain and you need to print knob enlargers to save your fingers (std thingiverse onse don't fit as you have 2 Y axi rails).

The quality of print on small things like the XY test cube showed horrible ringing
Sadly mine was a duff one, the bed was so uneven I couldn't get even the first layer down on a big print (wasted 9 hours and 17 times to print). Same as other people the self level only works on first 300x300, so looked for newer firmware (which isn't I read upgradable), someone has done a version of marlin but it requires the unit opening and flashing with an Arduino boot loader first (way too much effort for a brand new machine). The quality of print on small things like the XY test cube showed horrible ringing.Want to print in ABS? forget it, the bed (12v only) tops at late 60's after 2 hours, took 19 mins to reach 19 to 60 deg (measured at 53 in centre, edges stone cold)Sad....but never going to go near another creality printer

Fantastic printer. Worked flawlessly out of the box
Fantastic printer. Worked flawlessly out of the box. This printer is huge and the power box needs to be placed next to it as the cables are very short.Only issue I had is when levelling the print bed, the software still thinks the bed is 300 x 300 when it is actually 500 x 500 so I have to manually adjust.Best purchase I've made on Amazon!
