The Mindfulness Code - Wonderful Book
Book was delivered, before I expected it, and in excellent condition. Great book to read if anyone is going thru any type of anxiety, stress or depression. I lost my youngest daughter last year (sudden heart attack) and have been going thru a lot of anguish and pain (both physical and mental). My grandchildren also lost their home - and school - during Superstorm Sandy. So many losses in one year. I needed to stop crying and sleeping and wanted to find some measure of comfort & peace. This book has helped me tremendously. Easy to read, simple concept. Donald Altman has helped to remind me to not dwell on the heartache/loss - and to be more aware of the present moment (because that's really all we really have). Like everything else - 'life' is a continuous journey. We can either give up -- or keep on 'flowing' on our 'journey'. I choose to keep going.

Simple Activities for Profound Results
Just the process of reading this book made me more relaxed and better prepared for life. Rather than promoting a radical change in your life and outlook, it provides a spectrum of easily done activities that could add up to a profound change; leaving it up to readers how far they care to take the advice within this book.It is also an interesting read: Each short chapter presents an idea, demonstrates it with the story of a specific individual, then gives easy-to-follow directions on a simple activity that can quickly yield a benefit.While providing insight to the wisdom of the major religions, it does not ask for conversion. While incorporating environmental concern, it doesn't scold or demand drastic life style changes. While recognizing the importance of good health, it is not a pitch for restrictive diets or demanding workouts. It is practical, actionable guidance that can make a big difference through modest changes in insight and activities.

Essential Reading for Life
I am so glad I found this book. It has helped me cope with everyday anxiety and stress. If I can't sleep at night I practice the "doable" practices that author Don Altman offers. This book is a blessing and I am so grateful to have it. What a relief.

I've read other books by him. This is a very helpful book for anyone who wants to improve their daily mindfulness. Very practical and helpful

Want to really understand mindfulness? Read tis book.
A gentle, readable book on meditation and mindfulness with practical exercises that help the reader incorporate the strategies into everyday life. I returned my library copy and both my own. Love it!

Helps with the job! Job has a high burn out factor! Unsure reactions from clientele could put your life in danger; therefore the anxiety and fear factors escalate. Thanks for the guidelines!!!
