A New Wise Voice
Innately, eating is a deeply personal and even intimate experience. It's something we must do to survive, yet eating can be riddled with pressures, emotions and confusion. What is the right way to eat? Confusing messages abound. How do we learn to find our own way with food? How do we find a way that brings health and vitality to us when there are so many confusing health, emotional, and societal judgmental messages between us and our truth with food. Jennifer Adler explores this incredible complexity with kindness and wisdom. With great vulnerability, she talks about her own troubled past and yet her journey is only a small part of the story. She also shows us how to learn to love our body with food; thereby bringing ourselves fully alive. She talks about easy ways to improve our diet (and not the ways you are used to hearing). She helps us improve our relationship with ourselves in order to lead us to greater health and vitality. At first glance, this book seems simple but it's wisdom is deep and true, wisdom our culture has forgotten. If you want a new relationship with your body and what you feed it, read this book. Simple, wise and kind, it's a gem..

Eat real food to nourish your body passionately
I had borrowed this book from the library and and read it quickly. I loved it so much, that I purchased it here to read again and be able to refer to it. Her philosophy is so gentle and passionate, I can't help but drink the kool-aid. She recommends that we be kind and loving to our bodies. She begins by saying that we are not going to remove foods from our diet, but begin by adding food to nourish our bodies. We over-eat because we are not feeding our bodies the nutrients that it needs. So by nourishing the body, it will tell us to stop eating when it is satiated. You don't even have to follow all of her recommendations. Choose those that fit within your lifestyle and you will feel better. By the way, our home has a gluten-intolerant meat-eater and a vegetarian grain-eater. We were able to pick and choose from the book to satisfy both of us.

Inspiring! 5 stars.
Love love love love love this book! Jennifer Adler was my instructor at Bastyr University and whether or not she knew it at the time, she was extremely important in shaping the way I view and teach nutrition now in my career. Since leaving Seattle and the sweet health bubble that is the West Coast, this book took me back to some of the basics of why nutrition excites me and drives my passion for self improvement. Since reading this book two months ago, I am now completely (sham)poo free and loving it and I have been looking more into my own issues surrounding self esteem and self love. Amazing and beautiful how nutrition touches all parts of our life and how our life affects all parts of nutrition. Thank you Jennifer, for telling your story and continuing to inspire others to reach for their potential.

Good to read for any life struggle!
This is a great starter book and really has opened my eyes to eating healthier in such a way that is enjoyable. Lovely to read with heartfelt intro that offers a look into the past struggles and triumphs of the author, which makes this book a good read for any of life's struggles in knowing that you are not alone, that you can heal, and that hope never dies. My only hope is that Jennifer Adler writes a cookbook using traditional recipes, but with substitutions and additions to make them healthier...like spaghetti, pizza, and even desserts. THANK YOU JENNIFER ADLER for a wonderful book and touching life story. You brought tears to my eyes and I pray and hope that life continues to treat you well.

Best nutrition guide out there
Jennifer Adler is down to earth and current in her guide to nutrition. As science learns more about the microbial world we live in, Jennifer is way ahead in her understanding of how the body works in this environment. It is rare to find information that so completely syncs with what you already believe or suspected to be true. My wife and I are now disciples of Passionate Nutrition and plan to give copies as Christmas presents to those we care about.
