Used these for years without problem.
Most people don't understand about headlights and think these are brighter than a standard Halogen, but they are not. This info is based on Sylvania 9005 bulbs. Std halogen, xtravision, sliverstars, sliverstar ultra, zxe and zxe gold are all rated at 65watts and 1700 lumen output. Where they differ is in expected life span and color temperature.Std halogen (2800k/320hr), xtravision (3200k/150hr), sliverstars (4000k/100hr), sliverstar ultra (4100k/125hr), zxe/zxe gold (4200k/100hr)The only way to get a brighter 9005 bulb is to go LED or HID. Which is typically illegal and can cause safety concerns for on coming drivers. I know properly designed housings and retrofits can be done safely, I've done them to my cars, but I just stating facts.For comparison quality HID range from around 3000lm to 4200lm (35w vs 55w) in your choice or color between 3000k and 10000K. Quality LED run about 3400lm and also have a choice of color temp. Also the lifespan of HID is usually around 2000-8000 hr, LED up to 30000 hr

Amazon 1/2 price of auto store was a dud right out of package. Packed in padded envelope so may have been damaged in transit? It looked fine but didn't light. After it failed to light I purchased another one from our local auto parts store and it worked just fine.

Good Mix of longevity and brightness
The XtraVision bulbs are a good mix of longevity and brightness. Other bulbs might be brighter, but won't last nearly as long.

For some reason these don't really last that long even though I use latex gloves, but they work, and they are cheaper than other brands.....
