APA Made Easy

I had to write so many papers in college and this was my life saver. It was like having my own personal cheat sheet. It also listed how to use different places to site like magazine, professional article and how to do many things. They only thing I wish it had was how to make an addendum. Had to do that in one class. Other that that on off best college purchase!

I purchased three different books from Amazon on APA guidelines. Two of the books were thick, and detailed - very detailed! They were so detailed that it was difficult to find the answers to my questions in a timely manner. I found I was forced to read and read through pages of information before I found the one answer that I needed.APA Made Easy is a slim volume, but don't let its size deceive you - it is full of all the essentials that will help you to master the APA format QUICKLY. This book leaves in all of the critical information but doesn't overwhelm you with pages and pages to slog through.The author also includes very helpful information to keep your writing tight, focused and effective. Out of the three books I purchased, I always reach for this one FIRST!Need the information quickly? Need it concisely presented? Need it accurate and updated? Need it simple and easy to follow? On a budget? Then you NEED this book!!! I cannot recommend it highly enough! ...I wish I hadn't wasted my money on those other two books!

I'm an adult learner returning for new college course work with a decade since my last degree and I needed to brush up on APA. I use APA in my professional writing in the science field, but I have to admit I use a limited number of sources and sometimes I mixed up MLA & APA. After the first "warm-up" paper the professor tossed at us I knew scanning the Purdue cite and the others APA Help sites were not going to cut it for the level of excellence I wanted in my work. I read the reviews on this book and gave it a shot. The author gets his ideas across in a down to earth manner, not talking over or around the reader. It doesn't have an exhaustive reference and cite example section, so I did buy the APA manual along with this book... but trust me, APA Made Easy helps you knockout the proper form, were the Manual gives directions for literature majors and the field. For the price, this little book is well worth what I paid.

Matkovich did a wonderful job compiling a good manual for students to refer to when writing an essay. However, he left out a major citation reference: motion pictures, videos, and the like.I appreciate him incorporating "social media" type references into his handbook, but using such a source in an essay at the higher education level is looked down upon by 99.99% of professors.Within that large percentage of professors, are the one's requiring you to use APA format. So I feel there really wasn't a point in wasting room in the handbook for something like this.He really explains how to utilize the heading of your essay which is very helpful. All in all, it's a good reference book with great examples to help you set up your citations.

I'm back in school getting another degree after graduating over two decades ago. I'd never written a paper in APA format, I'd never heard of it and I'm not sure it even existed the last time I wrote a paper. Then I find myself being assigned to write TWO papers requiring use of APA format in my first semester after returning to school.The instructors provided a link to an APA site, but all that did for me was give me an idea of how much I'd have to learn! I ordered this book in somewhat of a panic. It turned out to be more geared to APA newbies like me, and also much more descriptive of how to do pretty much everything than the website was.I flipped back and forth through the book constantly (the advantage of print over a website) while typing. Got a 97 on one paper and a 98 on the other 😊 Thanks, Scott!

I have been using this book for several years as I plod through my Master's. Clear, everything works, and for people like me who just can NOT retain stuff that seems like it's irrelevant to my field of interest and could easily be handled by any competent editor if I ever do write something worth publishing, this gives me the tools to get my papers properly formatted and make my nitpicky rule following professors at least not downgrade me for picayune little stuff unworthy of my great and unique intellect.

I never heard of APA until I decided to study writing again and began publishing research work. All of my professors kept pointing me to Purdue Owl's site. Bah, phooey.This book helped me format MS Word to APA and gave me all of the guidelines to set my Word and cite, quote, and set up references for books , article and online material.I would have completely failed my classes and received 10 rejection slips from Associated Press had I not gotten this great Kindle version of this book. It helped so much and I recommend it as a helpful tool for fellow writers and students who are getting started and for those getting their Master's--you will neede APA.

I have already been using this book and to me it is a great tool for those students who need to use the APA format.I am so happy that I got this little book for my own personal reference guide. I am an adult student and this book will be a life saver for me. It is small enough that I am able to put it into my folder and take to my classes. I always have it handy when I need it for my own reference. This is my first time using the APA format and this little book has a gold mine of information for us students needing to learn the format for our papers in school.Do I recommed this book? Absolutely! :)

Excellent guide for any student that needs to follow APA. This book even gives step by step instructions on formatting documents, headers/footers and it covers both Microsoft Word and Mac Pages. I thought APA was just about referencing until I bought this book, now I wouldn’t be without it when I sit to write an assignment. Really good value for money.

Returning to uni to start my 2nd degree and have never used APA before. I looked online and was getting really confused. Then I found this book and I get it now. It’s nicely written, easy to follow and to the point. Great investment and really reasonably priced
