Loving God: The Cost of Being a Christian Review: Learn to Love God - Wonder what it means to love God? This is the question this author relentlessly pursues in this work. To learn from Charles Colson is to learn not only from the Bible but from his life story. It is clear that Colson has scoured the Bible, consulted countless other works, peered into the depths of his own soul, and inquired into the experiences of many others to find the answer as to what it means to love God. If you are interested in the question I highly recommend this engaging and insightful work. It's hard to put down and definitely in my top ten best books I've read on Christianity. Review: Awesome Book - Colson’s book encouraged & strengthened my new walk with Christ in the late 1980’s, after I became a believer in ‘86. I just finished it a second time. After almost four decades, it’s truthful relevance resonates even more in my heart after all these years. God never meant us to be cul-de-sacs; He desires us to be conduits of grace…

Inspirational
When I first picked up this book, I was a bit erred by the sunflower on the cover and wondered what this book might want to tell me. But now after having finished the last pages, I can see why Colson chose to title this work simply "Loving God." In these pages live very simple stories of simple people like ourselves who chose to love God as strongly as they could, and in so doing they found that loving others was the key to understanding God's love. Personally, I went through this book just one chapter a day, and at the end of each day felt so much more inspired to go into action instead of sitting idly by. This is a true self-help book for the serious Christian or for someone just curious as to what serving God really means. So help yourself by getting inspired (hopefully, as I have) to at least look at the people around you and want to show them how God loves, not to find new converts or to make money together, but just to care for those you meet. I even think someone just looking into the Christian faith or just curious about what real Christians look like could benefit from taking a read. (I say, avoid any book with the author's face firmly on the cover. They are not there to exemplify true servant leadership!) Good luck.

As it turned out the cost was more than reasonable and the quality of the book was excellent. Great buy in every way
Was not much of a Colson fan, at least as an author, but this book changed definitely that. Friend had loaned her copy. After reading about a third of it, I decided it was worth having my own copy, regardless of the cost. As it turned out the cost was more than reasonable and the quality of the book was excellent. Great buy in every way.

Great Book
Charles Colson was a brilliant man and a deep thinker and one who dedicated his life to helping those who've made mistakes to be rehabilitated from the inside out. If you want to get a glimpse into what it looks like to truly love God this book will open that door. Colson tells the stories of and gives testimony to the changed lives of men and women who have given themselves over to obedience and sacrifice and loving God. He also challenges you to look deeply into your heart and ask some tough questions, I've read this book several times and there is always something new in it each time. We will miss Chuck Colson.

We haven’t got a clue what struggle is in this country. Eye opening
Even though written some time ago, it has even more meaning now. How Chuck new where we were going politically in the 70’s and 80’s is amazing. We get so caught up in the every day crisis that is around us now that we forget what a true crisis is. God loves us, unfortunately he also gave us free will, which we seem very capable of messing up. Because of his love we need to move to his walk and simply love others weather our opinions are right or wrong, God wants us simply to show his/our love to others and help them to learn of his unconditional love.

Excellant
This book was handed over to me by an old man with some other pile of books. I didnt bother to read for a while and happened to pick it up to glimse and COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. It has changes my life completely since then. They are filled with real life stories of men and women and thats partially why its so easy to read but ofcourse with chills running down your spine and tears rolling your face. Its transforming because God has used this man to re-telll the truths of the Bible that have touched ordinary people. I STONGLY encourage you to read even if youa re not a reader because it will change your life . Give it a try.God bless you.

Loving God Right on point!!!
Charles Colson applies his rugged intelligence and competence to a kind of ethereal question: what does it mean to love God? Answering that question through the telling of stories is most Christ-like, and very effective. The answer is not clinical definition; it is better. It is experiential. The reader may not remember a word-for-word definition. But (s)he is unlikely to forget emotions, feelings and experiences. An excellent read!!
