WEN 10423 3 x 2 x 1-Inch Steel-Hardened Precision 123 Blocks, Two Pack

Bought two sets, so four total. Cleaned them off with mineral spirits and some denaturated alcohol and measured all dimensions, and each end, with Mitutoyo calipers (precision to 0.0005"). They all landed on the 0 but depended on the pressure applied, meaning they are probably somewhere in their stated 0.0002" tolerance. The middles all dipped to X.9995" with the same pressure applied to the edges, but stayed at 0 with lighter pressure, so each of the blocks has a very mild dip in the middle, but that's ok. I also used a DIN 875/00 knife-edge reference square to check for square. They're good enough for wood working and some rough machining setups. Some corners were so good there was zero light leak. Others were off a bit. Definitely not ultra-precise blocks, but more than good enough for most needs, especially at this price point. Blocks like these make EXCELLENT clamping and square blocks for building boxes or other things where traditional full size woodworking clamping squares won't fit. They also won't flex or bend, so you can apply significant clamping pressure to use these to force tight joints into square.

Some have noted problems with these blocks, but mine seem very good indeed!. The blocks are square, true, flat, and have a near mirror finish when you get the oil/grease off. These do come (like nearly all such tools) wrapped in oilcloth paper. Not as bad as cosmolene, but it does require degreasing followed by a proper waxing to preservw finish and prevent oxidation. The packaging is not great: just wrapped in the paper, then in a plastic bag, and finally in a light cardboard box. Just be sure to check for damage after cleaning the blocks. As stated, mine arrived in good shape. RECOMMENDED

Fast safe shipping Excellent surface grind. Desired, Hardened finish. Very good matched flat/ parallel tolerance. The threads are 3/8- 16 as stated. Good tolerance. The chamfer depths are wavey Most likely a worn out tool 100% ZERO concern. Or interference. The threads were tapped individually not as a matched pair. One side will NOT allow bolting together. Threads & block alignment one side is .100 -/+ off. NOT a problem unless specifically bolting the blocks together as a pair. Overall very good blocks.

Seem well made. Ground surfaces and threaded holes seem clean. Measured 1x2x3 with calipers.

The blocks are higly accurate and simplifies some projects even in woodworking. They are quite hefty and don't feel like cheap material. The only downside is that they do rust if left untreated but that's solved by spraying a protective film after use. Can recommend.

I don't use these for high-precision machining; my work is primarily with scale models and model railroading. For that, they are perfect. They are solid, heavy, and perfectly square and when I checked them with a quality square, they were spot-on. These are incredibly affordable compared to buying similar tools from specialized hobby stores. I've seen some reviews that question the precision, but for my purpose of assembling model structures and ensuring everything is perfectly aligned, they work great. They are also perfect to use as weights for holding down glued parts. For any modeler, these are a fantastic value.

Gut verpackt in Ölpapier angekommen, keine Spur von Rost. Erst mal entfettet und mit dem guten Mitutoyo Messchieber kontrolliert, alle Maße 0. Das ist so genau genug für mich. Messung mit Bügelmesschraube folgt, ist für Holzwerken aber egal. Alle Gewinde passen und auch die Durchgangsbohrungen. Das sind 100 Punkte!

Bella gente, il prodotto arriva in scatolina di cartone con stanpato il nome e codice prodotto. All'interno non troverete istruzioni o foglio illustrativo ma solo i due blocchetti incartati con del celofan, in una bustina di plastica...consiglio di munirvi di straccio e petrolio per una bella grassata. Prodotto consigliato per hobbistica.
