Protect that feed!
This cover does a great job of protecting the top of the feeder (it's meant for) from excess rain and (especially) birds. It's not perfect but it helps. I used a knife to notch the hole at the top bigger for the jack chain that I hang the feeder with.

Not sold with the feeder!
This works well enough to cover the 11 pound (doesn't fit any other size) feeder. But it would be real nice if this "lid" was sold WITH THE FEED CONTAINER!!! DUH!!! However, it is sold separately therefore shipped from a different vender as well - it costs more that way too!! (It's called marketing.)To Install it, if the feeder is hanging from an overhead attachment (such as a hook in the ceiling) whatever you use to hang the feeder (wire, rope) has to first be threaded through the SMALL hole at the top of this "cone lid" then attached to the feeder. The cone should slide freely up and down the wire. There are not grooves, flanges or other types of "latches" to hold the cone onto the feeder. It just sits without being secured. That is fine - until you want to fill the feeder. If the feeder is not touching the ground/floor, it swings freely - TOO FREELY - and is difficult to fill while swinging and trying to hold the cone off the feeder at the same time. Secure the feeder in some way - remove it from the attachment at the ceiling and set it on the floor/ground; if not, at least slide the cone up the wire and somehow secure it to the hook at the ceiling. It can all be a pain to deal with it. However, it does keep dirt, debris and chickens off/out of the feeder.

Only Useful for Hanging Feeders that are being hung.
I bought one of these covers to go on my Little Giant 11lb Hanging Poultry Feeder. It fits perfectly on top of my feeder however, it does not secure to the feeder. It is designed to be used on a hanging feeder that you actually hang. I don't hang my hanging feeder. Because of this I have to devise my own way of securing the top to the feeder. As of right now I'm not able to use it. Very disappointed. If they would redesign the cover to either snap or screw onto the feeder it would be perfect.I hope they consider my suggestion.

Could Use Improvement.
Just okay. I am not a big fan of Miller/ Little Giant products. I bought this as a temporary cover to keep the chickens off the hanging feeder. When I tried using it on a floor feeder, my two month-old chickens would just jump on it and knock it right off in spite of the rim. The rim should be thicker and wider to help hold it on. If I wanted to use it on a floor feeder, I would use duct tape to thicken the interior bottom to help it stay in place.I finally used an electric saw to slice down the cone from tip to bottom so I could pop it over the wide chain I have to hang the feeder.Be sure to measure your feeder before buying this.In general, I have found most poultry equipment to be extremely poor quality or mediocre design at best. Still searching for the right manufacturer and design.A better long term solution would be a huge farm funnel. I plan to get one locally and modify it to fit when I get a chance.

Chicken feeder
I am enjoying this product more than I have enjoyed others I have tried. I like that it comes with a cone shaped plastic cover to keep the chickens from trying to perch on top of the feeder. I do like that the height of the feeder to dispense the food is adjusted with a wing nut. That seems to control the flow a little better than other designs I have used. The frosted plastic shields the food from sunlight, but still allows you to see where your feed line is. One complaint. The hole on the feeder cover is to small to run anything through except a thin wire. I used very small, lightweight chain so I could hang the chain from a hook and keep the feeder up off the ground. However, to use the cover I had to drill a larger hole in the top to run the chain. Not a huge problem, but it meant I had to get out the drill and spend another 10 minutes on hanging the feeder.

The cover works like most covers do.
In other words, no matter how good the cover is, if you don't do other things just right...oops! When I hung up my feeder, I didn't realize I'd set it up so that water could run down the cord and through the cord hole in the top of the cover. I need to work out that little issue. It's not a big deal, but it does allow some feed in the top center of the feeder to get wet through wicking, or running, down my chosen cord through the hole in the feeder cover.. I think a wide, ceramic or stone bead may solve that issue as long as it is tight on the cord, and it may even pretty it up a bit! I'm also going to change the cord I used. I just grabbed a completely synthetic, non-absorbent, one off a bale of hay. I'm guessing that wasn't my best choice. I'm hoping the bead will also keep my goats from trying to get at the chicken feed by lifting the feeder cover. The feeder cover is great! It's just me and my beasts that are the issues.

Works but could use improvement.
I'd review this higher if the description of how to use were better. The problem lies in the fact that if you aren't going to hang this feeder and use a chain, the top has to be secured. It does not snap down, twist or latch. I looped some wire thru the hanger which is inside now, and I have to thread it thru the hole and bend it down to secure each time I refill. Tedious. Someone needs to come up with an additional or longer length center pole for the feeder so that it can have a nut closure on top. It would be safer and more efficient. Even if I did want to hang it the lid would make refilling difficult without a way to move the lid and secure it while filling. It is a solution for keeping chickens off the top. But not gonna keep food dry either.

essential cover
This cover is a crucial component of the 22 lb hanging poultry feeder. Without this cover, the feeder is sort of useless because the chickens will roost on the top and poo into the food. I took one star off for this because I don't understand why the feeder and lid isn't sold as one unit. It took me a while to find a matching set. That said, it works perfectly and is a great price overall.

Poultry feeder cover.
It is a little cumbersome on the top of the feeder I put it on. top of the round hanging metal feeder with the hanging clamp however once I got it in place it is wonderful. No chicken poop in the feeder any more. No one can roost on it. Works wonderful. My feeder is not the application it was made for, but it helps wonders.
