This tool worked great, but the toner didn't.
While I love the idea of refilling my toner cartridge (HP 92A for the HP Laserjet 1100), I was extremely disappointed that the InkOwl Refill Kit left streaks on the page and the toner gets all over my hands whenever I touch a printed page. I bought this InkOwl Hole-In-One Toner Cartridge Hole Making Tool with the refill kit, watched several videos on how to do it correctly - and was very careful not to overfill - so that shouldn't be happening.I loaded a new HP cartridge and the problem disappeared, so it's definitely not a problem with the printer. It may, however, just be a problem with my old cartridge. While it didn't work for me, maybe it will work better for others. At this price, and based on other reviews by people for whom it worked great, it was still worth trying, so I don't regret the purchase at all. The only real negative is that the tool doesn't have a stand of any type, so you have to figure out a way for it to get that hot without burning anything touching it in the process. I propped it up from the handle, and that solved the problem.

Unique Tool for Toner Refills
Forget the drill bit. Use his handy heated tool to make holes without any damaging debris blending into your toner. Simply said, "It works."

ABSOLUTELY MUST BUY for your first time
This tool punctures the perfect sized hole for cleaning out and replacing toner in your toner cartridge. What is nice is that the place hole that is melted out sticks to the soldering irons attachment so it doesn't fall into the cartridge. It heats up relatively quickly and does its job very well, but it does take a little time. Melt the hole slowly applying gentle pressure.

Works. But it gets hot. Take some precautions before plugging in.
Piece is a little cheap in construction and its front heavy so it tips forward. Will scald anything so make sure you have a heat resistant surface below it. Maybe a ceramic tile or coaster? I had my colleague hold it while I performed the refill work.

I kinda wish I had ordered the other one
The AC power tangs are so thin, they keep falling out of the wall power socket. I finally succeeded (sort of) by finding an extension cord that had a tighter than nornal insertion force and then plugging into the wall. The problem with the setup then was that the power the "pen" was able to receive was very limited by the flakey connection and even the upper range 5 minutes the manufacturer recommended didn't seem to be enough to heat it. It did ultimately work so I awarded the device two stars. There were two such devices available when I ordered. I kinda wish I had ordered the other one

It works, but you could easily make it yourself.
The important part is that this works and for the price, it's not a horrible deal. When I opened this up, I actually laughed a little about what it is because it is nothing more than a low cost soldering iron, with a half inch copper end cap (used for plumbing) screwed onto the end of it. I'm actually REALLY surprised that nobody else has called it out for what it is. It would probably take just a few seconds to build your own, and you could almost certainly do it cheaper than it sells for with the shipping added, even if you had to buy everything new.If you're not interested in spending a few minutes to make one yourself, this is not a bad product, BUT if you have a soldering iron lying around already, take the needle out, buy a 1/2" copper cap for a few cents, drill a hole in it, and screw it on the end... you'll save 20 bucks, and you'll have a soldering iron you can use.

The tool was very easy to use
packaged arrived today, got right to replacing the toner. The tool was very easy to use, I recommend practicing on an old tupperware container just to make sure it's hot enough. Cheap and easy, I will be definitely buying more in the future.

Delivery was very fast. The tool is easy to use and makes a nice neat hole in the used cartridge. After the hole is in the cartridge subsequent refills are easy. For the price it's perfect. Be careful because the shaft heats up as well as the end of the tool.
