It explains very well the concepts for a beginner in this field like me. I definitely recommend it
I am a server side developer, and I have started to learn a little bit about mobile development (Android and iOS), this book definitely helped me with Swift programming. It explains very well the concepts for a beginner in this field like me. I definitely recommend it.

One of the few truly bad books I've read
This book is a debatably acceptable (on a scale of A-F, a C) introduction to the language. The first app example is complicated without contributing anything. This book is full of half-baked examples and explanations, poor writing style, inconsistent code samples, and attempts at being humorous don't contribute to the content at hand. It almost immediately jumps from contrived REPL examples into full (albeit simple) GUI applications.Especially in the "Build a Game" chapter, there is a lot of jumping around and inadequate explanation of how things are done under the hood, which means you are pretty much up the creek unless you copy and paste the code from GH.

Excellent read
This book is not only a fantastic introduction to the Swift programming language, but also goes in-depth and leaves no doubt as to how to do anything you're comfortable doing in Objective C with Swift. This book is definitely a great read for any iOS developer curious about Swift.

Arrrrgh!
Irritating. I'm lost at the first example game. "Use this code." Thanks for providing example code. It would be nice to know where to enter it!Also offers no help on using Xcode. I spent over a hour trying to find how to rename the UI elements - which I was instructed to do, but not how to do it.Good thing I purchased other Swift books. I think I'll just move on to one of them.
