Hada Labo Tokyo Ultimate Anti-aging Facial Mask - 0.7 Oz

I returned from a work trip with irritated, overwhelmed skin. Spectacular new constellations of acne and blackheads traveled home with me, accompanied by a blazing rosacea bloom growing by the minute. Yikes. Fortunately, this Hada Lobo sheet mask was waiting in my mail! I cleansed my skin and smooshed it on. As the cooling sensation breathed into my skin, I still wondered: was I making a bad skintuation worse, or pulling off a dermatological Hail Mary? About 15 minutes after application, I gently removed the mask, patting the remaining serum into my skin. Rosacea had vanished: only two wee patches of redness remained (about half the size of a coffee bean). The hyper-production of oil had stopped, redness had completely faded from the fresh acne, and remaining blemishes were now in the "almost-healed" phase of the breakout cycle. This morning (day after masking) my skin looked amazing - like, after-the-spa amazing. As a side-note: the serum left a definite gloss on my skin. From a phone booth sized distance, my face looked oily. This sheen was actually the serum, locking in moisture, and didn't feel oily at all. It was distinct enough to prompt me to ear-mark this face mask for night-time use only. Other than that, no problems - just praise and relief!

Hada Labo is well-loved by Asian Beauty enthusiasts, mainly for their Gokujyun lotion. I'm addicted to sheet masks and always looking for good deals, so when I saw these on sale for only $9 I bought them immediately. These do not contain any artificial fragrances or alcohols, when can be irritating for my sensitive, dehydrated combo skin. They're also very thick -- I know there's a lot of hype about ultra-thin sheet masks these days, but I personally prefer the thicker ones because they tend to soak up more essence and do a better job at being occlusive by preventing product from evaporating from the skin. Some folks might not be happy with the somewhat fibrous texture, which is a lot like that of a thick, brown paper towel (if this is too irritating for your skin, try hydrogels or silk masks), but this also makes the mask more durable and difficult to tear. One of the reasons I love these masks is because they fit my face almost perfectly with minimal wrinkling. I must have a small face, because every other mask I've tried has had some excess fabric overlap and bunching around my nose, lip and chin area. There is not much excess left in the packet, which I actually prefer because I don't feel like I'm wasting product. I was able to leave mine on for around 50 mins before it started to feel drier in places, but it was still pretty moist overall. It leaves no residue, and my skin felt more hydrated for 1-2 days after use. If you have a similar skin type and like to avoid fragrance and alcohols, I would definitely recommend these sheet masks. To get the most out of your masking, use these before bed, after cleansing and toning. Some might want to skip applying moisturizer afterwards, but it's usually best to use one in order to seal in the benefits of your mask.

I loooove a good sheet mask 1-3x per week, as I have EXTREMELY dry, dull, flaky skin. Implementing sheet masks has really helped my skin to look and feel better. I’ve recetly discovered korean skincare and all its wonderful benefits, and after hours of researching the best Korean sheet masks, I found this. I will say right off the bat that after leaving this on for 20 minutes, my skin was literally softer than it’s ever been! Because I’m used to hydrating sheet masks, i know that a sticky residue from their serums is very normal. Every sheet mask I’ve ever used has left my skin very tacky for a little while, because of how hydrating the serums are- HOWEVER. I will be completely honest, this mask left my skin tackier than it’s ever been! I don’t mind that at all since I use sheet masks at night, and I’m going to sleep afterwards anyways, but if you are a person who uses sheet masks to prep their skin before makeup, then I would recommend NOT using this particular mask. Only because it’s sooo hydrating that it will leave your skin very sticky for a good while, and makeup probably would peel up if you tried to put it on over this serum. But my skin truly is very soft and HYDRATED feeling, incredibly glowy, and very bright and healthy looking!! I definitely recommend trying this mask out if you also suffer from dry skin.

This mask has become the center of my pre-work week prep. I've used a mask here and there without much result, so this is the first time I've actually seen a difference in my skin after using one. For context, I have acne-prone skin on the oily side. My skin also tends to be pretty red most days. This mask is surprisingly soothing and has great moisture, but doesn't clog my pores. Also, the serum isn't sticky at all. Once it soaks in, my skin's just soft - no yucky residue. Overall, definitely worth the price at about $3-$4 a pop. Will definitely be purchasing more.

I am over 70 years old and just wanted to find an easy way to moisturize my skin, as my skin doesn't wrinkle and I want to keep it that way. The day after my first use, my face texture felt 5 years younger as well as fuller and less tight. I wasn't expecting this quick a difference. I can't wait to see what my skin looks like after the 4 weeks the product recommends in seeing results. After taking off the mask, I also recommend using the mask on arms or legs before throwing it away. Wonderful product!

Lots of essence on these. Smells great, moisturizes effectively. The mask is a little thin but still works great. UPDATE 10/22: These masks are God sent. Highly moisturizing (even on dry tretinoin skin), and if used at night, you wake up to VERY noticeably smoother, dewier, clearer skin. Because of the price point, I have literally tried HUNDREDS of other masks - JMSolution, MediHeal, The Face Shop, expensive Korean and Japanese ones, the list goes on. But I always ALWAYS keep coming back to these. No other mask compares. My wallet cries a little every time I purchase this, but my skin thanks me! You only get 4 per box, and sometimes I mask 2-3x per week. So it’s definitely not budget friendly. BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND I WILL BE A LIFELONG CUSTOMER! As long as the formula doesn’t change. 🤞🏽🙏🏽 Another pro: These masks are meant to stay on only 10 minutes, unlike most sheet masks that require 20. They work better in a shorter amount of time!

Love these sheet masks, so much i wish there was a bottled version I can use to spot treat and use it more frequently. I have combination skin with acne prone sensitive skin. I like to use this mask when i need a hydration boost, it does a great job to increase moisture without breaking me out. I use this after my serum but before my moisturizer. And for an added punch of hydration I will slug on top of my moistyrizer with aquaphor. Just bought my 2nd box, really wish there was a bottle I could buy of it. Part of my skin was really dry, used this and the next night used the extra liquid on my face and by the next day all the dryness was gone and skin looks brighter. Would recommend! (Side note, i have asthma and strong smells bother my lings, this does not have a strong fragrance and I like that.) Honest review, bought with my iwn money and will buy again

It’s an ok product. I didn’t notice a big difference but the masks do feel refreshing especially since I keep them in the fridge. It doesn’t have a scent and it does make your skin feel more hydrated but it’s definitely not the fountain of youth.
